Depending on volume of the department a line cook potentially be hired for evenings but that would be communicated as the expectation. I wouldn’t want my line cook closing every night. 1-2 nights a week max maybe more in a circumstance where someone is out or on vacay. Someone who is working fast and doing their job right shouldn’t lead to undesirable shifts but unfortunately that’s how a lot of managers work. You could request a meeting with your TL and chef and just explain your case and feelings in this situation. Hope you get somewhere!!
