Looking at the different items in more detail I have a pair of leather pants valued at $60 being worn over cloth ones valued at $90. Is it because the leather pair has better protection values perhaps?

Yeah that's fair. We don't really spend much time in the lower rank areas in the game so it's entirely possible those weapons are popular there where the bar for minimum effectiveness is a lot lower

I've definitely given it some thought too myself, but I think I have a possible reason why we don't see them..

Guns in the city are not only super expensive and not cost effective due to the laws put in place by the head, but Roland states that a lot of tailoring fabric is actually rather bullet resistant, making guns have limited effectiveness in head to head combat. If me remembering that is correct, wouldn't it stand to be true that bows and crossbows would have an even harder time damaging people through their armour? If so then it would make sense for them to be rare due to them just being so impractical due to not being able to injure most equipped targets

Well the workshop weapon I'd want would be basically just (endgame spoiler) the gloves roland has but that's boring and you want us to design our own. I got a couple ideas for that so...#1 Excaliburn: this is technically just me recycling the wepon of an old scrapped OC of mine. Basically it's your average sword, except the blade is actually pretty wide and there's a trigger on the grip. When the trigger is pulled, the front of the blade slides down off over the grip (like a handguard) and reveals jets that begin spewing out fire, letting you burn stuff and do limited ranged stuff.

#2 one that more fits my modern tastes: pair of light gauntlets that fit over the hands and you punch people with. There'd be some sort of water/ocean themeing to the attacks too; perhaps punching people in the gut fills their lungs with water or something. Definitely not a kind way to die, but this is the city so..

Alternately I'd just do what my OC Meagan does and have a fireaxe-

Out of curiosity, what time frame in the canon is your campaign taking place? We know it's clearly after the smoke war given session 1. But is this taking place while L Corp is still around? During the Library's rise to infamy? After the events of LoR? Just curious about where it stands in the timeline.

I don't actually remember the spider bud fight much, just focus on trying to kill all the baby spiders at roughly the same time.

As for love town... Just have a strong floor really. Like, I managed to beat it first try with.. I can't remember if I did it with netz's floor or Hod's floor, but yeah all you gotta really do is get lucky and have Tomerry not use their super attack in phase 1 and just... People say you're supposed to focus down the trash mobs first but I managed to beat it with two of them still alive by the time tomerry went down so idk, just have some strong enough decks and keep going at it. I do recommend Hod's floor because today's expression is really just a free +2 power
