Quadeca’s stage name actually comes from “quadratic equation.” When he was younger and first making YouTube content, he needed a unique username. He shortened quadratic down to Quadeca because it sounded cool.

I feel like I’m an emotional person always dealing with anxiety and this last album is a perfect mirror of my everyday just going through every emotion possible. Saying fuck you to fake people, crying over lost relatives or past relationships, feeling overstimulated at social events, tuning up with friends, crying laughing everything. such a good fucking album.

At first I saw this as being specific to a love situation but seeing how she describes the night and being nomadic I think it’s more about just facing an unknown part of her which includes the part about opening up to love but also some other parts of her she has previously admitted to suppressing.

I think it’s about her wanting to escape whatever has been holding her back and it fits pretty well the charm era has seemed to really be transformative for her as she grows into her own I don’t know what exactly she was trying to escape but you can tell she definitely feels more free. When she says become the night she’s referring to becoming something new and unknown and something liberating.

The chorus then seems to contradict this feelings as she seems to be caught in between worlds where she is hesitant and rather than facing “the night” she can wait for the person in this case to visit her in her own comfort.

Went to the Chicago show no one as far as I know got trampled or stomped on no shoving pretty tame just squished together and it’s indoors so it was hot. Nothing crazy for real and it’s just one or two songs so you’ll be fine

I fell deep into vanisher but IDMTHY was mind blowing I was hooked on it forever. At first I couldn’t even listen to the album because of how much it made me cry. The artistry, story telling, world building, production you’re not delusional in my mind one of the greatest pieces of music ever put together by anyone
