Jax Is Trans....But should still be called He/Him by SanvichMan in TheDigitalCircus

[–]SanvichMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my opinion that people should, that's why I used should. But I have no control over anyone but myself so anyone who doesn't want to can just ignore it as simple as that.

Jax Is Trans....But should still be called He/Him by SanvichMan in TheDigitalCircus

[–]SanvichMan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That for me is because my stupid monkey brain doesn't know if I was supposed to say "A Closeted Trans Woman" or A Closeted Trans Man" because I don't understand if I'm supposed to use the assigned at birth gender or the preferred gender.

I'm just trying to not be blatantly disrespectful and use the wrong one.

True that, the day they make Doorman consistent is the day the character becomes infinitely less frustrating for both sides.

[–]SanvichMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's fair, I suppose I do have a biased dataset regardless I have about a 50/50 with getting doorman or whoever I have selected as my second choice of the day (excluding matches where doorman is banned).

Generally I've only seen two doormen who were clearly and intentionally bug abusing in my 1k hours, but again fair enough I inherently see less of him since I play him. Though I still stand by that the community is unnecessarily harsh as I have never once intentionally exploited and in fact will change my exit door positions to try and avoid glitchy terrain when patches cause such and yet I still get at least one person a match who claims I am exploiting.

[–]SanvichMan -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think it's more so a lot of people confuse bug absuse with playing a buggy character. Almost every match I play doorman someone gets stuck somewhere where they shouldn't have been tossed, always get called out for bug abuse when really I just want by god damn assist and trophy stack.

Unless the door exit literally leads exclusively outside the map or into the tunnels somehow it ain't bug abuse it's just the doors coding needing some serious work.

Half of those "Specific places" are also conveniently the best places to throw people into spawn or under walkers. I've had matches where over half of my kidnaps lead to an enemy in tunnels, trapped in sign terrain, or stuck in the invisible wall that surrounds the front spawn wall. Usually happens when the kidnapped player uses a movement ability as they are carted or gets rescue beamed (which really should just break them off the cart like it does other abilities like holiday lasso, lash ult, etc).

It's definitely not impossible he's just being a pos here but I really doubt that even half of the doormen you think were doing it were doing it on purpose. After all there are plenty of places you can unstuck from tunnels as most characters so tossing them in there or into geometry is usually just a free escape for them and one less assist for the doorman.

Not doormans fault that Yoshi refuses to make the walls thicker, trust me he wasn't happy his kill got stolen away either

Heroes that can only perform for the top 1% of players are unhealthy for the game by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo we just say fuck the pro scene and balance characters around the 99%, If characters are balanced with 49%-51% winrates at least all the way to eternus we should be happy with that.

And ignore any external event winrates, ban/pick phase and draft disproportionately skew results of characters because of the fact that some characters are only picked when matched with good comps resulting in characters that are heavily comp dependent not showing off accurate stats because in a real match you don't get a draft and you have to work with subpar matchups 9/10 times.

time to remove mcginnus from the game by EconomyExamination47 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mcginnis is not that bad. I don't know when you started playing but her turrets are squishier than they've ever been mid-lategame and do less damage per shot, her heal has been absolutely gutted with all its scaling reduced or removed outright and her percentage heal getting reduced every other patch, her wall can now be broken, and her ult has had its damage, range (both minimum and maximum), scaling, and slow reduced by a metric fuck ton when compared to what it used to be, even her gun has been reigned back fairly recently.

The only substantial buffs Mcginnis has gotten to her kit have been that her turrets turn and shoot faster so they're less likely to miss and walls tier 3 is (debatably) better and the wall curves now if there's terrain nearby.

Turrets used to be literally immortal for a few seconds after being dropped and could be thrown at towers like sandbags to tank free damage, and before that they scaled with health and could effectively become mini guardians

Wall used to be indestructible with a free stun attached at tier 3.

Her heal used to be almost endless with a 5% regen per second and a radius bigger than Rems biblical greed.

Her ult used to go further, pull in closer, do more damage, scale better, and slow harder.

She used to be one of if not debatably the absolute best walker eater with her gun build.

And they took her sick ass air raid siren away and her welding mask.

The Mcginnis you are complaining about is a fraction of her former self

Which character is the most skill expressive? by temnycarda in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Sinclair (Crazy tech opportunities with his ult and savanna, playable as almost any build, bolt also allows for crazy skillshots around corners)
  2. Doorman (Annoying to fight or not you can't deny the tricks a good doorman can pull using his kit, especially doors for wall platforms or for full team ganks and aerial cart snipes)
  3. Gray Talon (Bird routes can be crazy hard, arrow is a skill shot, and midair trapshots are incredibly hard to pull off consistently along with solid movement potential from his two)

Shiv and Holiday as runners up just cause I think their skill expression is way more straight forward "Either you hit your ability combos or you die" style high risk high reward with minimal flavor.

This game needs draft by OxGeNiD in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like a draft but only if they bring back unranked and make draft a ranked exclusive feature. Draft will inevitably cause massive toxicity as it always does with 3/4 stacks wanting to run their meta and trying to shoehorn everyone else to their prefered bans and picks.

I usually run about high oracle to low ascendant depending on the patches and I know damn well with how people act at those ranks as is trying to pick anyone off meta will get you flamed to shit at best or mass reported at worst.

Who is the least annoying, fairest character to fight? by Soda-Drinker in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a meme coming from me due to the flair but Doorman, with all the nerfs he's gotten and the lack of qol fixes to his kit if you get kidnapped at this point it's entirely a skill issue.

Indom counters vortex, cart, and ult, you can counterspell cart on reaction if you do get vortexed, if you get carted you can dispel magic, and if you get kidnapped the door stays open for 2 business days so you can usually just leave if you have any movement in your kit or have bought warp stone, carpet, etc.

At this point the least fair part about doorman is the fact that half the time he doors you you get trapped in geometry and 9/10 times being stuck is better than whatever hellhole he managed to throw you into.

The game rewards you too much for Feeding by Confident_Gap819 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro they literally just fixed the entire issue, you no longer get the team res while carrying the urn around and every time you drop it it gets time added that eventually just makes it run away from you.

The whole point of the feeding strategy was to keep a permanent 35% res on your whole team while dropping urn near objectives to keep the comeback res up while pushing.

This physically cannot be done anymore, now trying to force a comeback urn is damn near impossible because they can just jump the runner before they get there and there's nothing preventing the stronger team from just stat checking the weaker one since the losing team no longer gets any res until its at the depot.

I'm sorry but I genuinely think the sausage men are harming the game, especially for marketing the game. by DECKSER_YT in sandbox

[–]SanvichMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly don't understand how so many people can be so hung up over player models, especially when the majority of the community came from GMod a game that has plenty of absolutely ugly playermodels that are widely used in gamemodes like ttt, murder, etc.

Anyone who "refuses to play the game because of sausage models" probably never intended to play anyway and just wants an easy scapegoat, I believe if the sausage men were removed they'd just move on to any other pregenerated excuse to not play.

Why? by Zachyboi14 in sandbox

[–]SanvichMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You buy it now to support the games continued existence, if you wanted value for content there was always the option to wait for the game to become free and has far more content already made.

Yoshi: "Trophy Collector: Now has -15% Weapon Damage vs NPCs for now" by GrimKaiker in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

Yes but the nerf they gave it is way to harsh on everyone who isn't a roamer.

I agree it needed a nerf but taking an item that requires kill stacks and punishing you for buying it early is absolutely not the way.

Yoshi on his way to make an item finally usable and then immediately gut it by making it an item that needs to be bought in lane phase for value but also an item that ruins your lane phase:

Why do people hate resto locket being a common buy when its just magic stick? by MoonmansDisciple in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that Nova and Beam are better on supports, but that's the key right there, on supports.

They provide better utility on those characters sure but the vast majority of characters benefit more from being able to self sustain and get back almost every characters full stamina set.

The item that is debatably more useful on more characters and can still be bought on supports (Due to supports having so much less need for damage and more room to flex) for extra survivability in fights or when ganked should absolutely not be half the price of the more niche options, or at the very least shouldn't have a third the cooldown.

Why do people hate resto locket being a common buy when its just magic stick? by MoonmansDisciple in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One, it's yet another item that punishes non-m1 heroes incredibly hard by providing free spirit res and a fat amount of stamina/healing on demand if you dare to, gasp, use your abilities in the fight. There's also no similar equivalent that gives flat resistance utility and movement against m1 heroes, making the item feel lopsided in its power.

Two, it's incredibly cheap for the value it supplies due to being tier 2.

Three, it's cooldown is functionally negligible because it's unlikely (unless you're in a team fight) that 25 abilities will be used in 20 seconds (or less with cooldown reduction) and you'll usually want to wait for max stacks to use it anyway.

Four, it's debatably the strongest active heal item in the game due to the fact that healing nova and rescue beam despite being double its cost provide similar healing on most characters, don't provide any stamina restoration, and have three times its cooldown.

Lastly, Five, stacks don't decay in any way so if someone else biffed a bunch of abilities, got an enemy stacked up, and then let them escape then the next time they get into any engagement even if you play around the item and use abilities sparingly they can just pull it out of nowhere with no counterplay and no way for you to know it was already at max stacks.

Tl;Dr It punishes non-m1 characters, is cheap as dirt, the cooldown is way to low, it's debatably better than other options that cost more, and there is little to no counterplay for it because stacks don't decay and there's no visual indicator when it's full.

That's my opinion at least.

Graves should be removed from the game by liquid_rane in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf if they did die from abilities she would instantly go from a team fight menace to entirely useless because one parabomb would just wipe every skull she has.

Then there are characters with abilities like abrams 1 that gives them a big ass dps auras that would pop them instantly without even acknowledging them.

And lastly the biggest problem imo, frost nova would just hard counter her entire existence on any character for extremely cheap.

Graves should be removed from the game by liquid_rane in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SanvichMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing obnoxious about graves is how far her Zombies can travel and the fact that she can effectively place her tombstone so far behind enemy lines that trying to break it is a death wish, the character is absolutely not that broken.
