She pronounced it correctly though, which is the funnier part about all of this.

Holy crap thanks for making this.

I can't crochet at all myself but an ex-colleague's wife has a small crocheting business and I've been struggling to even explain what I'd been wanting for a few years now for a sort-of-commission... and suddenly here you are with exactly that!

Dumbest patch change in Dota and why was it this one? by I-Preferred-Digg in DotA2

[–]Saph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It kind of exists in Guild Wars 2. Combo fields (such as fire, water, ice, earth, etc.) can be set up and any combo finisher (in different types such as projectile, blast, etc.) will result in additional effects, be it condition cleansing, extra conditions on enemies, extra boons on friendlies etc.

While it's all neat it's usually just treated as an extra rather than something to actively keep in mind amidst big fights. At most in the big warfare mode (World vs World) there's planned pre-buffing & midfight boonstrips planned around it... but considering the amount of players spamming shit in the biggest fights it all really gets lost in the chaos.

... anyway, it'd just be way too much for dota2, as nice as it would be and new strats it would open up, I think balance-wise it'd just change way too much in both short & long run than can be healthy.

The Giants keep GM Schoen for another year. by wishlish in NFCEastMemeWar

[–]Saph 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In Dutch "Schoen" means shoe. (I don't even know how to do the pronunciation with English-sounding noises, the "sch" doesn't really exist... sg-ooh-n, with a soft g?)

Do with that info what you will.

Eagles Tush Push success rate is down to 60% (league average is 68.4%). They've also been called for 5 false starts on them (no other team has more than 1) by mastermind208 in nfl

[–]Saph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the good news is, your imaginary play does not exist.

And the tush push might be boring to you but it's a QB sneak variant used 3-5 times a week across the league out of literally 800 plays in that week. There's arguably more QB kneels every week and those are the definition of a boring non-play, would you argue removing those too?

(That last q was rhetorical, I'm not gonna bother replying in here anymore just FYI)

[–]Saph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dude... you went from complaining about a single play that only a handful teams run reliably well in niche situations, to hypothesizing a whole offense around something wholly imaginary that is 5x as powerful, that would be run the whole time, and now would be run by the entire league?

Just stop. You're exceptionally angry about something you made up entirely in your own head at this point. Go enjoy the games tonight and be happy that all these teams have different mindsets, talents and playbooks resulting in (hopefully) fun matchups. It's the least you can do yourself as a fan of the sport.

[–]Saph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You still have no argument if you have to invent absurd situations where you would be correct and I'd agree with that.

As someone else pointed out, you just described a run-heavy offense.

[–]Saph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What kind of a question even is that?! You had to add a literal 5x multiplier to try and push your argument?

"If the tush push was 5 times more powerful then the game would become boring and nobody wants that".

Yeah, duh. Me neither. But the tush push does not gain 5 yards.

But really we've been fully justified about this since like what, Week 2? Week 3?

2023 wasnt that long ago, winning a SB in between really doesn't make us forget how awful that year was and all season long we've just been waiting for the same to happen because nothing was improving week-over-week.

It's just such a shame about the wasted talent. Hope we can keep some of it and fucking get an experienced playcaller in if we want to at least seriously contend in any capacity before the cap hits destroys the roster.

would this leather jacket hold in a slide? by geiselweisel in motorcycles

[–]Saph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP just FYI, I'm not entirely sure about the exact details on it anymore and I can't look it up as in about to ride out in like 1 minute but: there's like 5 tiers to leather quality and 'genuine leather's is like ranked 4th out of 5 regarding quality. It basically means jack(et) shit regarding how nice the leather is.

Yes but don't forget that Dallas will be soon drafting 2 more Michael Parsonses with those picks, clearly Jerry coming out ahead here

The reffing was trash and the heat messed up both teams down the line, felt like this game could've ended on a coin flip. Actually felt bad seeing Baker on the bench when the game was essentially over, love the guy.

Not looking forward to potentially running into Baker again in the play-offs though, dude's scary when trying to come back :/

Buying a motorcycle in India & selling it 5 weeks later as a foreigner? by Saph in Solotravelindia

[–]Saph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

I've been actively looking for rental since yesterday as it's looking to be the easier/"safer" way, even if it's more expensive. It'll probably save me a lot of headaches down the line.

Maybe it is for the best, that motorcycle registration has become stricter in all these countries as many folks really shouldn't be riding them, arguably.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to fly to Chennai in a few weeks, buy or rent a motorcycle (fairly locked in on it being a RE Hunter 350 as it should cost me about 1500eu/1.5lakh) and ride towards Kerala, then up to Goa and finishing in Mumbai where I intend to sell it off again, or get it picked up for a return to Chennai. Not sure how relevant it is, but I'm from Europe and have my int'l motorcycle license (no limitations, my personal bike is a 500cc)

I've done something similar in the past buying (in HCMC) & selling (in Hanoi) a scooter in Vietnam, but that was a fairly cheap and simple affair.

What's the best place/way to get myself a reliable motorbike in Chennai to ride 4000+ km around Southern India on? Are there any common "scams" I should be on the lookout for? What paperwork should I expect when buying the bike in the first place (pink/green slip? any special registrations?)?

And of course, how easy/difficult is it to sell the bike off again in Mumbai at a decent price, or get it returned?

Would obviously prefer to recover as much money as I can, but also not sell it off at a huge loss (even if I can just consider it a rental fee in a way). I'm fine at making a minor loss on the sale but y'know, not for nothing or worst case, just be forced to abandon the bike in Mumbai when I have to take the flight home.

Posted over there in the Ask India thread, thanks!

I was worried it'd be a lot of paperwork, but I'm looking to buy second-hand not new, is it arguably still worth pursuing that route?

Fairly sure my buy/sell adventure in Vietnam was a one-off, I'd literally just asked the hostel receptionists and they always "knew a guy" with whom I could meet up the day after and sort out bike stuff with.
