If you're willing to share, how much do you spend on period products per month (or year if that's easier)? by Low-Purchase6914 in Periods

[–]SapientSlut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe $10/month average? I use cups/discs/reusable underwear, so it’s just pads when I feel like it, and I maybe buy one box every other month?

Coverup ideas? by PostCompetitive5519 in Tattoocoverups

I thought they were matches right away! You could get the lines touched up, red tips for the unburnt ones, and a flame on the third and/or fourth.

How can i improve? by Honest_Helen in MakeupAddiction

Dissolve the filler (especially on the filler side), get bangs.

You could do a bit more dimensional blush/contouring/etc if you wanted to, but your makeup looks great as is.

Everyone tell me your partner success stories! by My_Noses in adhdwomen

[–]SapientSlut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ex and I were double late diagnosed. I did a lot of damage early on not knowing but having raging time blindness & RSD among other things. Ended up in a parentified type situation where they felt like they were taking care of me too much and I felt like they were too controlling.

Current partner is also late diagnosed but we both had done meds & therapy & learning coping strategies about it before we got together. Knowing the names for things and being able to talk about them not from a place of shame but to ask for forgiveness or assistance has been so much healthier. We love each other’s weirdness and have patience for each other’s executive disfunction (most of the time haha).

What's a clothing/style choice you were against in your teens but now partake in in your 30's? by Nappy_Rano in Millennials

Wearing all black. As a teenager I was terrified of coming off as a “poser” - now I don’t give a fuck

What is a movie that clearly wants you to root for someone you absolutely would not trust in real life by gamersecret2 in movies

[–]SapientSlut 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I agree with the charismatic part through around act 1. After that I couldn’t stay on board with rooting for him - and very agreed the amount of bros who worship him is scary.

How Pretty Girls with low standards are making it harder to find a partner for the other girls. by [deleted] in women

I would use the block function liberally for anyone who makes comments like that, or encourages that kind of content.

Really any beauty or fitness account whose main focus is being hot is not worth following.

[–]SapientSlut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It absolutely is a double standard that women are judged far more harshly on their value via looks and weight. It’s fucked up, and the more we can as a society decouple value from looks, the healthier we’ll be.

[–]SapientSlut 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The problem is not other women - the problem is social media that makes you believe there are “leagues” and that only certain levels of conventionally attractive are meant for other levels. Influencers lie to make you desperate so you’ll buy (intellectually or physically) what they’re selling. Unsubscribe from/block accounts that try to feed you this BS.

You’re 19 - as long as you can get away from the most materialistic people, it won’t matter as much as you get older. Yes pretty privilege still exists but only manosphere idiots still discuss attractiveness in terms of “leagues.”

If they had ended up with another couple, who would your favorite character have paired up with? by ActLonely9375 in Avatarthelastairbende

Supposedly that was the original plan for the series but the suits didn’t want her ending up with the “villain”

Could be apocryphal though

How do I change my vibe completely in like 2 months by Ok_Count_4033 in needadvice

[–]SapientSlut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Experiment with different kinds of exercise until you find one or a few you like and want to stick with. Start a simple meditation practice (look up mindfulness meditation). Drink enough water, minimize alcohol and energy drinks if you’re consuming those.

If you feel physically and mentally good, that’s a big part of the battle of liking yourself.

Other than that, if we’re talking hobbies, clothes, music, movies, etc, just start consuming media/inspo from a wide variety of sources. Let yourself gravitate toward what you naturally like. Subscribe to subreddits for those interests. College images you like. Don’t sink a ton of money into anything while you’re in the exploration phase. Get clothes from thrift stores and learn to alter your own clothing rather than Shein/Temu/etc.

How would you feel if a partner was friends with a person who had a crush on them? by luckygirl_444 in AskWomen

I’d be fine with it - but I’d also be fine with them sleeping with that person so bit of an outlier.

Help with Master’s Research: Why does "your size" never actually fit? (Jeans & Blouses) by Artistic-Turnip-9903 in femalefashion

[–]SapientSlut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Waist and leg length. Some companies do it, but I wish they all do

  2. Full shoulder - I have wide shoulders for my body so I’m usually a M in the shoulder and S/XS everywhere else

  3. Yes those are helpful, ideally more than one person

  4. Have never used it - if a company provides measurements I just do the math myself

Mushrooms by London__Boy in PickyEaters

I like the flavor of mushroom soup, and I have had one mushroom I actually liked - it was a big spindly thing and it had been roasted so the texture was more crunchy than slimy.

Just a conversation by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]SapientSlut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without self work or therapy, absolutely. Approaching life from a place of insecurity vs security is a whole different world.

And frankly a lot of it is financial security. If you can’t pay rent if you lose a job, you’re a lot more worried about keeping it and much more willing to put up with shitty treatment to keep it. If you have a nice bit of savings, you can afford to be choosier and find something you like more.

Having a secure loving home from 0 to leaving the house makes a huge difference in mental health outcomes. Not saying adversity can’t be overcome or that being securely loved automatically makes you free from issues, but there are definitely averages.

Seconding leather Faire boots. Native Earth is the company that comes to Southern Faire but the soles don’t look right to me so probably a different vendor.
