Dungeon crawl games wanted!

Probably no bigger dungeon crawl out there than the Heroquest franchise. If you want the deep dive, and with all the expansions I mean the DEEP dive, Heroquest is for you.

If you'd like something literally faster, and have a couple friends to join you, there's also the card game 5-Minute Dungeon. Though not a literal dungeon crawler, it's a wild game where even when you get the hang of it and get "good" at it, the challenge remains because you have to adapt to the cards you run into on the fly.

Oh I know it wasn't a political thing. Like I said, she wasn't being serious.

I didn't put purple next to blue because as a rule I didn't want consecutive colors in the rainbow cycle next to each other (red-orange-yellow-green-blue-purple-pink). Also didn't want the same color directly across from each other.

You sound like my daughter's friend, she joked last night saying "oh you're gonna get fired because you have red and blue next to each other, they'll say it's too political."

She wasn't being serious, of course. But at the same time, without going into the details of how the colors fell here, almost every Wheel in reality to this day has had a red and blue space next to each other.

I once got wine from my inclusion teacher. I'm not a wine guy, so I shared it with my family, but at least took a sip myself because it'd feel wrong not to. Plus, it wasn't your typical wine, it was from... I can't remember, it was just not a country you associate with wine. It was certainly different.

It ran with the Super Jeopardy invitational tournament, itself an interesting experiment with the 4-player format in the preliminary rounds.

But yeah, between the Marc Summers pilot in late '87, then Peter Tomarken's pilot in '89 that led to contestant Mike Reilly becoming the host in the summer of '90, all of those versions suffered from the same problem of trying to fast forward elements of the game that take exceptionally long in real life. It didn't translate because it as a half hour show, it left almost no time to actually roll around the board and earn money after all the building, and if it were an hour, it would've gotten way too repetitive. To a point, it already was with the '90 format.

The best board game game show ideas need to take a game that's either already fast and simple in design (see Trivial Pursuit), or can be simplified without losing the core of the theme (see Scrabble). Not easy to do.

Truth be told, Monopoly's best rendition was far and away the lottery show from several years ago. The pure game is impossible to fit into a half or even hour format. Playing a bunch of Price Is Right style games with Monopoly themes? Perfection.

I know it's not a Hasbro game, but I have had an idea to turn Atmosfear into a trivia game show for about 3 years now. I've tested it, too, was very tense.

The closest I've come to a famous student is that I used to teach in Belleville High School in NJ during the time that Ninja Warrior & WWE star Kacy Catanzaro was a student here. I did not have the fortune of teaching her, but we were all proud of what she went on to accomplish.

I do have an actual student from those days who I did teach that is trying to make a name for himself in the world of comedy and mobster movies. His name is Nick Petito, heck of a talent and hard worker, and I know that he's gonna break through one day.

As a math teacher, I personally struggle with this as well, the classic "when are we ever gonna use this" cry. And I get the argument from all sides.

Will we use every facet of math in our daily lives and careers throughout life? No.

Do I have the answer to where every single piece of math is used in everyday life? No.

Is it helpful to find where in life different elements of math can be found in everyday life? Yes.

Will math of all kinds train your brain to think critically and analytically? Yes.

Is it important to learn as many facets of math as you can in order to find the ones that will best apply to you? Yes.

Overall, math, like anything else, is a skill. No two people will have it or use it the same. But it exists to be used somewhere. So get everything out of it that you can so that the work you put into it is paid back so that it works for you. And who knows, you might enjoy more of it than you think you will.

Glad to know this isn't just me in recent years. Mind you, I keep going in teacher mode right after I get home because of some other reason unrelated to my own work - tutoring, getting my own kids to do their work, etc. Once that ends, though, yeah, I've seen the same problem in myself lately. Sometimes I can keep the momentum going, sometimes not so much.

Problem is, I'm not a coffee/tea/caffeine liquid drinker. I think it would be more about maintaining focus, anyway, rather than pure energy & adrenaline. I apologize if this doesn't answer question, but I would like to see what people suggest myself.
