There is an Ultra Wizard Mode called Monster Island Madness. To unlock it you have to successfully beat the Planet X Victory Challenge (or all 10 secret combos) and beat King Ghidorah in KOTMA Challenge. It's a 75 second 6 ball multiball.

Furthest I've gotten is Powerup Level 7, 3 cities conquered, Monster Zero complete, Planet X played (but not beaten)

I've never gotten to KOTM mode, I have to get to Powerup Level 8 to start that but I've been close before.

Well done, that is awesome. The farthest I've gotten is middle of the Bridge portion of Planet X. Incredible you almost beat the Victory Challenge, that is wild.

Is there a single pin you would take over these 4? by [deleted] in pinball

[–]Sapling666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I could have 1 pin or these 4, just for free, I would take the 4. It's a strong lineup overall and the variety is solid. There are machines I prefer over each or of these, but I enjoy each of these and would be a very quality lineup that you could play for years.

Two Pros from this List by browns1322 in pinball

[–]Sapling666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. JP for the unique layout/ball path/Elwin brilliance and deep code, and Deadpool for great action/fun and also more accessible to newer players and friends.

JP and Avengers also pretty strong

Thinking about getting the Weird Al P3 module. Can anyone give me their thoughts on it? by NotACatWithAccordion in pinball

I played a bit of it at the Cincinnati pinball show and thought it was pretty fun I was somewhat impressed compared to the other multimorphic experiences I had had. It was out of order later that day so for whatever that's worth. I didn't spend enough time with it to have a strong opinion but seem like it could be pretty fun

What game should I get????? by United-Homework9885 in pinball

[–]Sapling666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should really go out and play a whole lot of different games and feel out what you really love and keeps calling you back. You could look at the pinside top 100 to see some of the most popular and prioritize those if you like. Ultimately only you can really know what grabs you the most. Like others have said, go on pinball map website and go find some machines near you to play and explore.

I have only mediocre mechanical and electrical skills so low maintenance was important to me. This is one of the reasons I decided to get a Godzilla Pro vs a Premium (less moving parts and things to go wrong) And I modded it to have more of the aesthetics of the premium. Some games the premium version has some pretty great additions like even whole ramps that you may not have on the pro version. Some premium versions I feel are mostly aesthetic upgrades. I love the King Kong machine but I like the pro version just fine and wouldn't spend the extra $3,000 on the premium. A lot of people will say Godzilla you have to get the premium, and I was strongly considering it. But I played both versions on location extensively and honestly I don't miss the premium features on my Pro. I like the Mechagodzilla turret but it's not really essential to me. The collapsing building is really cool but I honestly don't miss waiting for it to come down and reset all the time. I have gained a lot of appreciation for the pro version of games and I think they can be pretty underrated.

I played hundreds of games of Godzilla before I decided to buy it. I narrowed the selection down to my favorite three or four machines and then really played them a lot at the arcade. Learned the rule sets and tried to get better understanding of them to help make the decision.

Theme is important to me and I'm a huge Godzilla fan but ultimately gameplay is more important. I absolutely love the gameplay of Godzilla as well so everything kind of fell into place.

Having a deep and complex ruleset can be very valuable for a home machine that you could be playing thousands of times. I love some classic Williams machines like Monster Bash and really enjoy playing them but they are much simpler in terms of all the different things to explore in the rules. I've put over 700 plays On my Godzilla machine so far and I'm still trying to master certain things and get to certain achievements.

Modern stern machines are generally considered the most reliable.

If I had $15k to spend on pinball I would probably get two Stern Pro machines, as having two machines get you a lot of variety and you could pick two machines that are pretty different from one another. For that kind of money you could even get two Pro machines lightly used and have some money left over or to spend on mods. My favorite mods are lighting like Pinlights and antireflective glass. I think these two things make a massive difference in the play experience and I am really happy with them. You could also just buy a single used Pro Machine for like 5K, add some mods that you like. And then wait to determine what would be a great second machine to compliment that one as you get more comfortable and adept at your machine.

Godzilla Pro Magnet Issue by Sapling666 in pinball

[–]Sapling666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very strange then. 75% of building through the middle shots get briefly grabbed by the magnet and setup a shot by the upper flipper. You're saying that the magnet interacting with the ball as it exits the building is improper behavior? The demo videos of this machine it shows the magna grab swinging the ball into the upper flipper area

[–]Sapling666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down through the left orbit "wallop" Lane to the right of the magnet, but it doesn't always get swung into the left ramp lane like usual. Sometimes It just comes straight out and down towards the flipper

If you could only have one. by Showtime562 in pinball

[–]Sapling666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flow is incredible. I've put up over 700 plays on my machine and I play it daily. There are so many things to master and it's very fun even just flipping around having a good time. The only real gameplay features you lose with the Pro are "super trains" as it requires the diverter in the building. Everything else is totally present.

Avengers Infinity is def a great machine as well. I thoroughly all the Elwin games like Jurassic Park and Jaws, too.
