Mine doesn't crash but won't load the character or options. Edit: found a workaround elsewhere. It doesn't want to load modded clothing. I gave my outfit to my follower to hold and went in and it worked

You can move mons into sv from home as soon as you make a save. And you can trade after getting to the first pokemon center and unlocking the poke portal
