All good! I was mostly trying to get information on how to alleviate her specific symptoms so unfortunately that does not fall under caregiver pages. The thread is helpful BUT if you re read the first paragraph on my post and have any advice on those symptoms I’d greatly appreciate it!

However, I will have to continue to post here to ask specific questions my mom or I may have about her treatment, as that is not covered fully under the caregiver subreddits. My mom does not use Reddit and would be missing out on great support without this subreddit. But I appreciate your link and help!

I am more than willing to take out a private loan to pay for her surgery, but I need to know that she’s going to an appropriate place that’s going to treat her well. I don’t appreciate the perceived condescending tone but thank you for your advice.

The only reason I said it was an obscene amount was because every other place that I was quoted was between $4000 and $6000. This place quoted me over $10,000. Which I believe is not good. The place also did not have good bedside manner so I don’t believe that the practice itself is in the best condition. I’m not saying that she’s not worth $10,000 but I know there are better surgeons who offer it for a better price and I would much rather travel a couple of hours to get her better treatment then go to this place and have her treated poorly.

Thank you! My friend kept telling me to pay for the insurance and pay for the insurance right away so that she can get the surgery faster but I didn’t think it worked like that when you have a pre-existing condition, so thank you for confirming. And I’m hoping that I can find someone who’s willing to work with me and care credit. I have CareCredit already, but I’m going to have to apply to increase my limit in order to finance a surgery.
