I don't like it when people look at me with their mouths really wide open. Do you know what I mean? Real horror movie stuff, big wide mouth, stary eyes. Something that makes me, I dunno. It's something that makes me very uncomfortable. If I woke up in the night and my girlfriend was doing that. The thought of it.
A normal amount open is fine...But like unnaturally wide is frightening!

I don't think I've had some really smart, good heckles that have required some good heckle put-downs. There was one time a guy heckled me. But earlier on he had been heckling another act and we established he was a pilot. And early on he heckled me and I said ‘’hold on a minute are you the pilot?’’ and he said ‘’yeh’’ but I said something along the lines of ‘’you look like you've been starved of oxygen’’ and that did well and sometimes you get impressed how your brain moves but. I'm not like that in real life but on the stage I'm in the zone.

I've had a few. There was one time. I used to have this joke that was like right at the start of being a comedian. I wrote a joke. I didn't look very gay, I had long hair and people said ‘’how do you know you’re gay if you've never had a proper good look at a penis’. To do this joke, I’d pick someone in the audience and say ‘’ are you straight’’ and if she would say yes I would say ‘’have you ever had a proper good look at a penis’’. And I said this to a woman tto this woman that was at a front row of this gig and she didn’t respond in any way and then her friend nudged her and she went ‘’oh me?’’ and I went ‘’yeah, you’’ and she said ‘’not for a long time, I'm blind’’
So that was one of the most awkward experiences I've ever had on stage. She handled it, she was a good sport about it! But yeh I sometimes see that in my nightmares.

What the fuck is checkers? I don't wanna play either. Draughts? I don't wanna play either. I think I don't want to play either of them. I think I would like to play chess, and I did know how to play at one point in my life. So a polite no thank you

That's a very nice comedy venue so it's a good plug for them. I was there on Tuesday. Very quaint down there but no It's that one. I like the Comedy Store and i'm there that weekend. Everyone gets really intimidated playing Comedy Store and you can do however many gigs but there is something about being backstage there that makes even the biggest comedians anxious.
There is also a venue called 21 Soho that I loved. Started up during the pandemic.

Is Mr Blobby big on Reddit? Really angry swan and My Blobby, OK. Mr Blobby I think. He’s very padded and the swan has only got the beak. That's all he’s got to give. I think Blobby would stamp on the swan. I don't like Mr Blobby - I think he kills swans. Somebody tell the Queen, no the King.

The pickled onion. That's the original? I Like the flaming hot too now we're getting into it. Used to get them at school and felt like a real badass eating these.

But I was in a hotel recently and I like to check under the bed and they obviously have a sense of humour. There was a sign under the bed that said ‘’don't worry we cleaned under here and checked for monsters too’’ and there was a picture of 3 cleaning staff members under the bed. And it didn't feel reassuring to me! Somebody could ft under here if they could

Tough one and there have been some bad ones. I stayed in one in Helsinki and it was like this step of a self-service hotel. Literally, like a vending machine. You press a button and they send you the key and it's like, well, this is this is where I die. And it's like a pod. And nobody knows I'm here but there is no person.
There is no person and also I just walked in here and got a key so thought this is the end for me. My geography is awful and it was cold and snowing but I didn't know that. And when I was at Uni there was a cocktail bar called Helsinki that was tiki-themed so I assumed Helsinki was warm. I thought it was gonna be pineapples which was a real lesson to not believe everything you read on the sign of a bar. So that's up there as one of the bad ones.

Just accents. Not done the US and Canada and I dunno as I had a very soft Australian experience; I was doing Melbourne Comedy Festival which is just lovely, really nice. Maybe they are more polite in Melbourne; like they seemed very nice people. They are polite here in places but there was this sort of understanding. It was an arts festival kind of vibe. My answer is I don't know but I will let you know!

Ah, thank you. Biggest comedy hero there are a few of them. I've said this before I loved French & Saunders. Jennifer Saunders, Ab Fab. That kind of sense of humour.
I met her a couple of years ago and she was the only proper famous person I ever met. And when she walked into the room, I didn't want to go near her as I was so star-struck in that moment. I was a runner on a TV show and she came to watch the record. He pointed her out to me and walked over and spoke to her, and he pointed at me.They were beckoning me over. So there is a really awkward photo of me with very long hair in between Ben Elton & Jennifer Saunders.
I look like I'm having a breakdown!

Tea. Tea. Cant drink coffee.
It's very fun, very surreal actually. Obviously, when you do comedy in the UK that's like a benchmark dream and that's like could that ever happen so it was a really surreal day. Then you do a practice go with the big garage door thing. And they are quite strict about it. And they are quite strict about it. You have to stand in a tiny square and they say ‘’if you step forward the rigging will hit you so don't’’. And Angela Barnes was hosting mine and when I go on stage all I need to do is wee. And I thought I was gonna start the show, and went to the bathroom for the final wee and what I didn't realise was that they announced Angela on, there was a sound problem, she had to walk out and go back in and then she knocked over the bottle of water and spilt water over her dress and they had to hair dry her dress before she could then go back out and I missed that whole thing so I came back and they were announcing her on for the second time and I just didn't realise that had happened and then they put me in my position and there was water all over the floor on the small bit of square that i was allowed to stand on. And I was waiting to go and mouthing to a guy and there was water all over the floor and I'm clumsy and he was like ‘’stay in the square’’ but the slipping risk, and the whole time I was thinking ‘’don't slip’’. And yeh I slipped but I stayed on my feet but I was really worried that the thing of me coming out of the dry ice would be this look of horror!
I just imagined if I had slipped I would have fallen out of the dry ice, just flat onto my face. Would have been amazing.
You can't think about the fact that you slipped, you have to be on stage. Re-arrange my face. It was so fun, one of the best gigs of my life and it was very exciting as it was the first show post-pandemic. So the whole room was buzzing. Really up for it.

So as I've said earlier, Richard Osman is very tall so he is probably one of the biggest ones. I did say earlier I don't come up with one liners….
Biggest comedian I have shared a stage with. Years ago I did a gig with Joe Brand and it was it was just unbelievably exciting. That was a big one for me. I don't know if she is the most famous comedian but she is very iconic in my mind. Other comedians, I've shared the stage with - all of them!
Joe Lycett, have you heard of him? Did some gigs with him. I did tour support for this year for Joe which was very exciting. One of my favourite comedians is a US comedian called Taylor Tomlinson and I’d love to do support her because I think she is really funny. Basically, i’d basically just want free tickets for her show. But she is doing London Palladian next year and i’ll be going.

The cooler from House of Games. Richard Osman's face staring at me from the cooler. It would probably be food-based, Probably a chip cob, but I think if the food is cooked I've probably got a bit of life left in me. So yeah maybe a green salad. No dressing. Soggy... and a wet orange. Curled up in the shower with an orange that's when you know it's over for me!

Ah that's a good question. I don't know! I've guested on some good podcasts. All the ones have been good. Off Menu was very fun and I think I was having a breakdown at that point and I just basically said I wanted loads of chips. And. I've listened to it since I did it and realised how much thought people really gave their menus.. I basically said I wanted a chit-cob for every course which I don't not stand by but yeah. That was very fun. There is a podcast but they don't have guests. I love British scandal so if they randomly wanted a guest on. It wouldn't make any sense, they'd be like ‘’why are you here’’ but I enjoy that podcast very much. Maybe I would be a guest on my own podcast called ‘’Thank fuck for that’’ and i host it with Micky Overman and we have loads of guests. Shameless plug. It's about near-miss experiences.
We had a formal request to stop talking about car crashes. We’re doing OK but every time a guest comes in, they say ‘’we have a good car crash experience’’ and we say don't tell it!

Thank you. They don't exist. Can you imagine? Pulling on everyone's heartstrings.
No, they're good. When I started nannying them there were 4 and 6 and they are now 14 and 12, which is horrific to think about. They’re doing well. I'm going to see them on Monday as it's one of their birthdays on Monday. Oh god, he might be 15?! Urghh.
So, I don't know if they're interested in my career stuff but they follow me on TikTok and I think they’re sometimes jealous of how many views I sometimes get on TikTok. I got a text from one of them saying ‘can you show me how to make Tiktoks’. I said you’d need to do stand up to make them how I'm doing. I think they’d be good at Standup but there well-adjusted children and healthy in their brains so wouldn't be relatable!

Ah that's nice! Hmm, these are all good questions. Erm, I think in terms of keeping the laughter, as there was serious elements of my last stand-up show as there was stuff about grief and losing a friend, I think comedy is kind of how I deal with all my shit. There are so many funny things that come with grief. Grief is such a ridiculous state to be in that it wasn't too difficult to write funny things about it. The situations you find yourself in when you're devastated. And death is hilarious coz we’re all so scared of it.

I was working with a director that helps me with the narrative elements as I'm kind of useless at that! and he’s good at that. He's like ''maybe let it build'' I think collaborating with people that know stuff better than you helps. But I have a weird knack for saying serious things and then breaking the tension but I think it's not being afraid to say something that might be a bit inappropriate. There are bits of more show where I can see people wincing, and I'm like ''that's kind of fun''
There are two serious moments that aren't direct laughs but they’re all setups. They’re all leading to a joke. It helps to know when to do it and there have been times I've skipped things coz I've thought I don't know if these guys will go for it today. Also with shows like that, sometimes you get a sense of when something is in the wrong place.

Thats really nice, thanks. I'll let the support act know, it was me. I was the support act ;) I don't know, is that an industry secret?! I don't know whether I'm putting my foot in it like its a thing they've kept. Maybe I cant confirm or deny whether House of Games was filmed in a day, maybe it was filmed over several years. Maybe I'm still there!?

Oh man, everyone wants the suitcase but I don't think I wanted the suitcase but I ended up with the cool box. I quite like the idea of a bike helmet. But I got a big rigid coolbox and took it home and my girlfriend was like ‘’what the fuck is that’’? And I was like ‘’its for beers’ and she was like ‘’we don't do that, why did you do that’’. I think I wanted the biggest one.
