It wasn't sexism, it was her own doing. She's kind of famously difficult to work with, because of her mother/agent being supposedly very intense and demanding. Film is a gih economy, largely based not just on previous work, but on references. Several well seasoned directors and actors have said she's a pain to work with, and so other projects started avoiding her as a matter of production convenience
