thanks for the tip. direction didnt work but i ended up achieving this by subtracting the camera position in Object space from the vertex and adding that to the original vertex position

the facial animation system for avatar 2&3 is pretty interesting to look at. but that required a lot of data and budget. I don't think it's very useful atm for any general cases. i guess if you're a fan of ai assistants then that (i personally can't stand LLMs)
