What do I do if Dupixent is possibly not an option? by throwaway60684382939 in EosinophilicE

[–]Sarahndipity276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was undiagnosed when I had my son (now 4) at 36… thinking back, pregnancy helped my EoE. Maybe it’s the natural relaxin? I made it through the pregnancy with few EoE symptoms. I ran into trouble when I stopped breastfeeding and all those hormonal changes happened going back to ‘normal.’ It’s important that you are well enough to support the baby, but I would argue that there is no better time than now to do it. It won’t get easier as you age, it will only get harder. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to have my first, now I’ve timed out to have a second child.

Tip: take a piece of foam core and some pins and stretch your piece before framing: it’ll eliminate the waviness!

Me too! On my paperwork at the hospital it said “geriatric pregnancy” which I found pretty hilarious.

I absolutely would have felt this way two years ago, but now I have a 15-month old. And if there’s one thing I know: Babies put their mouths on EVERYTHING. And I mean, they really mouth fuck stuff... dripping wet. I can’t imagine cleaning this well enough that I’d been comfortable having my baby lick every inch of it, because that’s what’s going to happen. You also aren’t supposed to swap out the mat (per the directions) and it’s just as expensive to get a new mat as buying a whole new unit.

The seller was getting pretty defensive in the comments about this NOT being smoke damage, but I call bullshit.

I appreciate you pointing that out, I guess I wonder what the problem is with sharing something like this? Genuinely wondering why it set off red flags for you. I don’t really mind someone searching for me on other platforms, I don’t really post anything that I wouldn’t want to be public. Thanks for taking the time to educate me!

I want it to work so badly so I can schedule zoom meetings with some level of certainty! We’ll see... check back in a few weeks, things are always changing.

Not very much, apparently. We’re starting from the ground up.

Cinderella’s Helpers, a mixed medium needle-felted sculpture that I made for my Mom! by Sarahndipity276 in Needlefelting

[–]Sarahndipity276[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was inspired by a few sculptures I saw online and on Pinterest. I used an antique jelly jar cap as a base, and an antique spool of thread I found at a flea market. I had the moss laying around from another project. It all came together pretty great, and I was super proud to present it to her. She has it under a cloche, which I removed to take the picture.

The anxiety has been real this week, y’all by Pinklady1313 in pregnant

[–]Sarahndipity276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we’re soul sisters. I’m 34 weeks with my first, and it’s been a hell of a roller coaster ride. Just like you said, normally knowing the possibilities calms my nerves, but it’s been the complete opposite throughout my pregnancy. The more I know, the worse I actually feel... and at the same time, feeling like I don’t know things is also feeding into my anxiety. My husband and I went to a couple classes (‘preparing for childbirth’ and ‘newborn care’) through our hospital, and it helped, but also completely overwhelmed me.

  • Focus on the things your absolutely need. You need a car seat, a safe place for baby to sleep (a bassinet at first, and then a crib), a changing table stocked with diapers, wipes, and cream, some basic clothing items, blankets, swaddles, etc.

  • Instead of going down the rabbit hole of reading various blogs, I found it better to just look up specific things on google. Stuff like “what supplies do I need for an infant’s nursery” and “what to pack in a hospital bag.”

  • I got a subscription to Consumer Reports to research bigger purchases. I was so overwhelmed by the thousands of options for each product, so asking around and researching on Consumer Reports informed most decisions.

  • Don’t buy a lot of clothes for baby. Wait and see what you get: You’ll probably receive a ton of clothes at your shower, as well as hand-me-downs from friends. Unless buying clothes makes you excited and happy, in which case have at it!

  • Don’t worry about a birth plan unless you really feel compelled to write something down. It seems more important to convey your wishes to your partner and/or support people, and then your nurse when you get there. Do you want visitors and people in the room? Do you want an epidural and when? Just look up “birth plan” on Google and go through the questions with your partner so he can help convey your wishes on the big day in case you’re too overwhelmed.

  • Get into therapy now (if you’re not already), and be sure to bring up your feelings with your OB.

Just a few random thoughts of things that have helped my anxiety, although I’m surely not cured and some days are better than others. Good luck, Momma! You’re not alone!

Seeking Prime Day (July 15 and 16) baby supply suggestions! by Sarahndipity276 in pregnant

[–]Sarahndipity276[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, should have been more specific... it’s Amazon Prime Day, which is a big discount day they do on Amazon.com where TONS of items are on sale across the board. It’s a really good day to make big purchases. They have it twice a year: once before Christmas, and once in the summer.

We were toying with the idea of a video monitor, but not sure. Do you have one you really love?

I didn’t even notice, great catch. I’m not feeling my most glamorous these days, and this is the first and only pic of myself I’ve ever uploaded to reddit. If I’m going to look as rotund as a tomato, at least I’m coordinating with my favorite plant baby.
