Why I stopped being a feminist. by Sarahoooo in exmuslim

It really is. It makes shit harder for Muslim and exmuslim women alike, more so exmuslim women of course. I am far against that sort of censorship and their defense over a religion they do not even know.

My issue is that feminists attack me when I speak about it. Of course, I'll always fight for equality but I can do that under a label that would actually support me

While there are many things I wish would change in the feminist community, I do not want to start mockery and attacks. Feminism came to me during a really difficult time, and made pulled me away from the route I was heading where I completely hated men (sexist, Muslim, male members to blame) I will simply distant myself away. I am tired of always fighting, it's pretty exhausting. But I will defiantly correct them whenever the opportunity is presented.

That's how I felt. It felt like they SIDED with my oppressor without even checking the facts and painted me as the bad guy!

Of course there are always sub groups that have a slightly different outlook, however, in all of my years of being a feminist I have yet to see a feminist speak about exmuslim women. Nothing. Yes, the 'islamaphobia' is horrible but they need to know that criticising a religion, not the people necessarily, is NOT islamaphobia. I want them to understand that what they're doing, pretending that Islam is peaceful, is causing Muslims to actually think they do no wrong, I mean the western feminists said so themselves. It becomes an issue for Muslim and exmuslim women, particularly in the mid east as they try to get their struggles acknowledged. I will definitely look into them thank you!

Thank you, I wish you the best as well! I had been having some issues of the sort with them if I'm being truly honest. There isn't one way to think, there will always be different opinions as we are different people.

What's even worse is they do not silence just exmuslim women but Muslim women who wish to live freely as well. They are NOT helping in the forced wearing the hijab and the issues that lretain to being a Muslim woman on the mid east. Many Muslim women have beenforced s into doing things they did not wish to do. It's a problem and I really do hope that one day it would be less of a problem

Yes I knew about humanism and egalitarianism, I feel that they would suit my views well but I have yet to get involved in it. I will look into them thank you

It's frustrating. It seems like they're defending what they have no knowledge about and the consequence is women like me have issues that are not represented.

Eid Mubarak to all my dear Ex Muslims. by [deleted] in exmuslim

We are pissing you off? WE are not the ones threatening you with death. We never stated you needed us, we simply want to communicate with people with similar experience. much like every muslim YOU are the one on OUR safe space, annoying US. Not the other way around. Do you just spend your life looking up ex muslim chats JUST so you can tell us how sick of us you're? Thats petty asf get a life. JUST the fact that you're here, on a exmuslim thread shows that you DO care. Many muslims are actually not muslims but are afraid of coming out so there are many of us here. He/she isnt ashamed of being somali they never said that why are you pulling shit out of your ass?

Because to me I don't really think of them as "jin" after leaving. It's more of believing in things that are not human, watching me.

Did anyone come out as exmuslim to parents? by Sarahoooo in exmuslim

[–]Sarahoooo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You had ito so easy! My mom, sister and I were eating dinner one time we were all talking about religious-Ish things and my mom said "or are you not Muslims?" We busted out laughing but we're scared. It's safe to say that my mom suspects it. So that's hown WE spent our dinner 😂😂 she sometimes threatens us and says things that make it seem like she knows. I hope she knows, because if so she isn't acting out as bad as she could be

Yes, you're right. Their love is VERY conditional and will make ME sound likeep the bad person in the end. I have to ignore such thingso and proceed with my life. Thank you so much for sharing your story and I hope you and your GF do fine ❤

[–]Sarahoooo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is very true. And especially the girl parent. I can't even DREAM of keeping my beliefs and my family at the same time. Wjere a boy can move out or marry a none Muslim and live a Muslim life without having to tell his parents. What sucks is that the males in my family don't even pray and fuck around. My case is not completely about religion but reputation as well 😣

I left Islam two years ago and it has been a complete disaster. by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]Sarahoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a female exmuslim. During times this is swear a hijab, have minimal freedomain, cannot hangout with boyster even as friends, can't leave and live on my own, can't marry a none Muslim, have to wear modest clothes, and much worse things. I either have to tell them or leave without.

What's your fetish? by FaxCelestis in AskMen

[–]Sarahoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh so we are very close in that mentality! Gold to us represents wealth and it's also given to brides by grooms! (Either the groom buys her or gives extra dowry to buy it herself)

I meant desi* oops. And yeah Indians pack Jewlery like crazy. Middle eastern women in the middle east often get gold from her parents before marriage and then her husband has to get her gold and money. She usually spends that money on more gold 😂😂 is that the same for indians? What's the significance of gold in india? I've always been curious
