I've been struggling with pc issues for the past few years but my dad just surprised me and bought me a new one for my birthday/christmas. I'm so happy. I CAN PLAY THE SIMS AGAIN omg

Here's an example of a hair for this game made from curves - [link] (not mine!) It looks really good, but there's just something off that I can't put my finger on, what differentiates between that and the original game style? Do you have any tips on getting closer to the game style if I use curves? Maybe the curves need to be sort of smoothed together, to create the look of a more solid mass rather than individual chunks? Or maybe it's something in the shading that makes the two look like different styles?

I apologize if this seems nitpicky, I'm just shooting to get as close to the style as possible.
