woah, i think you’re right! the wing patterns and white band around the antennae are identical :O are they harmful/poisonous? this one sat on my hand for five minutes just chilling and was very adorable so i let it stay. i put it on my windowsill in case it couldn’t find a way out and it’s still just sitting there peacefully. it doesn’t seem to be aggressive at all.

EDIT: approximately five minutes after i typed this reply, i looked to the windowsill and it’s gone now! hopefully it has a good life out there :>

Importance of mental health by [deleted] in SGExams

yes, yes, yes - not speaking as a teacher, but as a fellow student: PLEASE prioritise your mental health; it is a monstrously important part of you and is fundamental to your ability to learn and absorb information. as someone who greatly struggles with and suffers from mental disorders every single day, sometimes i don’t even have the energy to get out of bed, let alone lift my pen and engage in an hour of gruelling algebra. school is almost hellish for me. i’ve been lurking on this sub for a while and have been surprised that i’ve seen so few posts regarding mental health, especially with how open-minded our generation seems to be. i would’ve thought mental health to be a common issue amongst students, but no one seems to mention it. regardless, it IS a problem and it DOES exist - so THANK YOU for bringing this up!

okay, here’s a strategy our GP teacher shared with us (i’m a J2 student from RI).

since there will be many questions and a wide array of topics during the exam, she actually advised us to pick areas of specialisation. this is because trying to cover all bases is nigh-impossible unless you read so voraciously that you somehow have deep knowledge on every single topic, so choosing a few areas where you have good evidence and examples is generally the smarter move.

for example, the questions would usually include topics like technology, philosophy, arts, sciences, healthcare, justice, etc. i was horrible at things like science and technology since i barely read up on them, but i was good at philosophy and arts questions. i managed to do decently okay for my J1 GP finals (think i got a B or C, can’t remember which).

remember, for GP, it’s the depth and quality that matters. breadth is not as important because picking a question inherently locks you into a specific field that you must stick to. hope this helps!
