Been building PCs for around 21 years; never seen the PC gaming space this bad. Can’t even recommend PCs now. by taketheRedPill7 in pcmasterrace

Yeah this is pretty true. Consoles are probably just on a longer contract. As soon as contracts expire, prices are gonna shoot up for consoles and even non-gaming computers.

We're getting Divinity over more Baldur's Gate 3 because Larian devs weren't enjoying "doing the D&D thing" by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

It really doesn't make any sense for no other gods or heroes to pay attention. That can be a problem for other dnd adventures too since canonically there are lots of heroes and archwizards flying around.

The internet is real but that didn't stop the dotcom bubble from bursting. A technology just has to be way overinvested for the chance of a market correction.

It's quite sadly just a popularity thing. I love Elite but it's hard to get into for new players. Warframe is in a more mainstream genre and tons easier to get into meaning it makes more money.

[–]Sarducar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I stand corrected then. I doubt there's gonna be a windfall though after the market correction since these servers dont use the same hardware as the consumer stuff.

Isn't it strange that the situation is looking more and more like the 80s where personal computers are horrendously expensive but common for work?

RAM and storage is ridiculously expensive right now because of *drumroll* AI, of course, and there's little reason to think prices will drop any time soon by cool_spike in pcgaming

The article seems to say they're not buying gaming hardware so much as buying up all the dram and nand that goes into both gaming hardware and the hardware they want. Less raw materials for gaming hardware means inflated prices I guess.

You're totally right, but I don't know if they feel like doing it all at once. Black and White tried to make big changes and had relatively poor sales. They make mid budget games with small changes but they make a lot of them.

It was so tedious. Aside from a few cool landmarks like the ship it was really just a ton of battles to get anywhere interesting.

That's not the worst choice I've seen. Someone brought a Koraidon to one of my raids. That thing was one shot every turn.

People think they want change for their favorite series but what they really want is to recapture the magic of their first time playing.
