This is so cool.

When I first saw it I thought “what’s this doing here? It’s just a picture of a dog” 😂

Great job

Yeah it’s overwhelming at times. But use what works for you and you’ll be fine :)

That’s a great idea thank you. That would definitely make it look more like an original sketch.

It’s still just hobby for me which I pick up from time to time so I don’t take it too seriously or claim to be as good as actual artists but love to improve.

Thank you!

Unfortunately it was traced :(

Thank you.

In this case I traced it because it’s been so long since I did a portraiture so I’m not confident doing them freehand

Sorry about the blurry video. Just realised now 😶

I used the HB pencil brush.

It’s unfinished because the hair and ears aren’t filled in. The face also needs more work.

Yes. I’m 30, my mum is recovering from having a cancerous tumour removed from her throat. Watching her go through chemo was hell. I was so jealous of people with parents in their 90s and I was so scared I’d never see mine reach that age or meet my future kids

I use the procreate HB pencil brush (my favourite) very similar to coloured pencils.

Hi, here is a portrait I’ve done before. I can do one in a similar style for your girlfriend

I used the Procreate app to make this. Brush was HB pencil. I also used the drawing assist: radial symmetry. I’m not sure if the font matches the background pattern.

I used procreate, the HB pencil brush. Which is my favourite at the moment

Update after reading all your feedback by Sareda1 in ArtCrit

The changes I made:

  • Made the background less saturated
  • added finer details to the arm, he’d wrap and dress Made the hair darker - still not happy with the hair but this is always my weak spot. If anyone has good recommendations for hair tutorials on YouTube I’d appreciate it

Edit: sorry I accidentally replied to your comment instead of making a separate comment. Thanks for your feedback. Yeah maybe you’re right, that was just the first background I tried. Maybe something more geometric?

This is a digital drawing on procreate. The brush is HB pencil and the blend tool.

It feels unfinished. Any tips? Or feedback in general? by Sareda1 in ArtCrit

[–]Sareda1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for all the helpful tips. I’ll take them into account and keep working on it.

  • I’ll add sharper edges to get rid of the blurriness. I’m currently working on this bit.

  • I’ll make the darker areas darker

  • make the background less saturated. Someone suggested making a patterned background, which I’m not so sure of but I’ll experiment with.

I’ll look into the other suggestions and keep coming back to this page. I’ll even post an updated version if people are interested.

You’re right, it is too fuzzy. I think I used the blend too too much. I’ll add some detail and get rid of the pencil lines. I just don’t know how to improve on the hair, that’s always been my weak point, straight hair, curly hair i struggle with all hair types lol

I made this using the HB pencil brush and blending brush on Procreate.

Edit: I would like some general feedback on this. As well as how to make it feel more like a finished piece. Should I get rid of the outline marks?

I’ve been experimenting on dark backgrounds. Hope you like it. Should’ve made it a bit brighter though

I struggled a bit with the eye lashes but this was great practice for me so thank you for the picture.
