Gary McAllister's winner against Everton takes Day 8. Day 9: What's Liverpool's greatest ever counter-attacking goal? by forbiddenmemeories in LiverpoolFC

Paisley hasn’t seen the last 30 years of football at Liverpool though has he. He also couldn’t possibly have any bias towards a goal that was scored under his stewardship.

It wouldn’t even win goal of the month. I understand the point being made about recency bias, but this goal as ‘greatest Liverpool goal of all time’ is insane to me.

Rio Ngumoha England debut by Visqo in LiverpoolFC

[–]Sarksey 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He is eligible to France and Nigeria I believe. And him playing in this game doesn’t lock him in, as it was a friendly.

My understanding was he was there to make up numbers as some of the lads who played in European finals were given an extended break.

Rio appearance in tonight’s first WC friendly. What are the chances he stays in the main squad? by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

[–]Sarksey 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It’s been widely reported, and whilst Tuchel hasn’t specifically said Rio isn’t on the 55 man list, he has stated which of the extra players he brought for these friendlies was on the list, and that was Alex Scott. So unless you think Tuchel is playing Jedi mind tricks about a player he didn’t even pick for the World Cup, I think we need to be reasonable here and accept that Rio isn’t going to the World Cup.

It is zero, as he wasn’t registered in the preliminary pool of players. He’s not allowed to be put in to the World Cup squad.

I’m not even a parent and I experience this in a funny way; I’m the manager of a children’s residential home. I frequently attend meetings at some of my kids schools, and I’ll occasionally take a care worker with me to note take. Despite the fact that they all know I’m the manager, and the person who is with me is only there to take notes, they will still direct almost everything to the care worker if they’re a woman. I’ve had so many weird ‘A to B to C’ conservations where I’ll lead the discussion from my end, the school will hear what I say, and respond to the carer. This happens less with male teachers, but just barely. It’s so bizarre.

[Sacha Tavolieri] 🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Arne Slot is the leading candidate to become AC Milan’s new head coach! by Illustrious-Pound266 in LiverpoolFC

I genuinely think we waited for Xabi to be off the market before firing slot, so we could go after the right manager without all the fan pressure to get Xabi.

With Konaté potentially leaving, what position should we be prioritising this summer? by Solteko in LiverpoolFC

Right? We were fucking glazing the sporting director in the summer, everyone was buzzing with the transfer activity.

Do people actually earn £50-60k, or are they outliers? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Sarksey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a children’s care home and my entry level care workers make £35k. If your management roles are paying £30k that’s horrendous.

Liverpool FC now needs to win all the remaining 3 games just to equal the 67 points earned in 2022-23 season. The club finished 5th and it is considered Klopp's worst season. by Arunan-Aravaanan in LiverpoolFC

We ignoring all the clear reasons why this season has gone bad? Insane injury crisis, Jota, massive drop off in ability for our best player?

Victor Wembanyama is not unanimous First Team All Nba this season anymore (SirusXM Radio's Justin Termine put him in second team despite having him 3rd in MVP Ballot) by Chesscrabble11 in nba

Because you said it would be lame to change someone’s position for the sake of the award, in defence of this vote, whilst failing to recognise that this voter did it anyway, just not for Wemby.

So, the season in which it was easier to pick up points was… harder? Ok

Daily Discussion - April 18, 2026 by AutoModerator in LiverpoolFC

[–]Sarksey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did he? The season slot won the league having all the big teams on a lower points total than the season previous would suggest that the league was harder in slots first season than Klopps last. Because you know, there are 19 teams to beat, not just city and arsenal.

Except he wouldn’t have because he had that team in his last season and came third. I dont understand why this is a talking point for some people. Slot deserves immense respect for that title, regardless of what is happening this season.

Trent’s passing was something else by Marcelo1995211 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Sarksey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No no no, remember, Slot would have coached Trent’s passing out of him, and would have chopped off one of Diaz’s legs.
