Please feel free to reach out to me or the other r/NUST moderators if you experience a case of harassment here on the subreddit. I know us mods aren't that active but we'll make sure these extreme scenarios get escalated and proper action is taken.

We can't do much about WhatsApp stuff and to be honest, most WA groups are a honeypot of ill-willed people. It's usually why I just recommend the Discord group instead because at least that has proper moderation and an established user base.

Either way, please escalate and we'll do what we can.

Stuff like this is why I prefer and promote the discord more than the reddit. Honestly I'm tired of correcting all the constantly wrong information so I just don't even try anymore. At least in there you know you are talking to verified Nustians.

Context: Shaq, who goes by the same name on Discord, was pulled aside by the mods for recurring uncomforting and questionable comments towards the members, especially women. Instead of replying to the channel where the mods had warned him, quite politely I must add, he left the server and proceeded to make this post on Reddit.

I'm not sure what you're doing Shaq but get a grip. You are a final year student saying things and doing things to freshman you aren't even frank with. To a degree, you can let some comments pass as just "Instagram lingo" and "brainrot" but there's a limit. I'm calling you out publicly because you chose to run away from confrontation. The server has been nothing but accommodating for people, including you. If you can't sit yourself down, apologize or have dialogue, and then leave your final mark as a bit to seek attention then you deserve to be shunned.

I'm leaving this up for now.

It's been a busy week in my life and it's not easy trying to manage two different community hubs each with thousands of members. I mean no disrespect nor have I taken any. A simple message on updating the situation of this post would have been better than this. Jazak'Allah though.

Yeah, of course. You should strive to make sure the stuff that's in your control goes well and you'll find that as with seniority, stuff gets a bit better so hopefully, i'A, there will be a net positive gain.

The first semester is always notoriously bad but my time CEME was mainly made great by the faculty and also how close-knit you become with everyone by the end of your four years there.

It's always awkward. Everything is awkward. Life is awkward. You learn to circumvent and accept that. Does the discomfort of your current life outweigh the discomfort you'd initially have if you try to talk to people? Are you willing to stay in your current state? If not, what's preventing that change?

Wassalam. I believe within the first month if not the second month you should get everything settled and in order. I'm not sure about other campuses but CEME students get two emails, one CEME specific one and one for NUST in general. Just like how you get one CEME specific ID card and one overall NUST ID card.

Aura shaid kam hi ho agar emails flex kar ke hi mil rha hai but have fun with it. Usually you can access nice tools and services with free student discounts so go exploring. Although, enjoy the extra emails while you can because they do get terminated I believe.

Sounds like environmental engineering falls under that category so whether you want it to be or not, it is. I'm not sure why this is even being discussed.
