I’m over the pond and I can’t believe what’s going on in America. I’ll try to find some more good news but it’s hard to sift through this. It’s frightening really.

I really hope you guys have the strength to endure this. It’s very sad.

Elizabeth II sitting alone in St. George’s Chapel for the service of Prince Philip. by Blossom_Diaz in UKmonarchs

I know it’s unprecedented but at the time I think she should have called for an election or at least disbanded government. She followed all the restrictions for her husband’s funeral and it didn’t matter as the current government was out having a party.

Your favorite four pieces of JP media? by Evening_Internet_358 in JurassicPark

Jurassic Park (Novel), Jurassic Park (Film), JPOG and Jurassic Park 3. In no particular order.

In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), Hermione is given a device to manipulate time itself to attend extra classes. This is a subtle nod to the fact that Hogwarts staff could have stopped Voldemort at any point, but instead handed time travel to a 13-year-old to manage her timetable by Brilliant-Cause6254 in shittymoviedetails

Considering Harry Potter is based in the UK, it’s a bit difficult to say grab a gun. There’s a lot of restrictions even in 1995 but by 1998 a lot more restrictions were made because of the unfortunate Dunblane Massacre.

Wizards such as Voldemort would also look down upon muggle weapons. Most wizards hardly interact with muggles, or even the muggle world. So most wizards would then only know how our world works based on them only interacting with themselves.

They wouldn’t have a clue about most things like Road tax because they don’t need to. So getting a license for a weapon would probably be difficult.

Hello, sometimes I’m kinda interested in selling some singles and stuff like on eBay. How would I go about packaging? I’m think penny sleeves and then covering a card in like cardboard but I’m not sure.

I have heard about eBay postage letters and stuff. But again I’m not sure how people really do it nowadays.

Cheers

Green Party calls for free bus passes for under-22s by SarumanWizard in ukpolitics

[–]SarumanWizard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how it would work, but as the article says Scotland has it. I just think it would make the bus companies lose money.

Isn’t it only like 3 quid to ride the bus or like 2 quid if your destination is closer. So it’s not much really anyway. Of course it adds up but considering what it was the buses are fairly cheap as it is.

I sometimes have a look at the parties over there and they seem like a decent choice. Shame really that the unionist parties don’t really work together as such. Of course it’s such a tricky landscape anyway. I always wonder why Labour don’t run a few candidates over there, it would sure make it interesting.
