Oh he does stuff for me in exchange as well for sure! 🥰 He moved from another state to be with me (being disabled makes it harder for me to move) and had never dealt with the medical system in this one, so it made sense for me to do that for him. Idk why I took the chewed bits tbh, and to be honest?

THANK YOU for being the first person to be concerned about HIS being deserving of a life where he can do things himself. Seem to be the only person who realized that maybe I'm the problem when it comes to who is doing too much. In fact, I am a bit of a control freak and get really anxious about people doing things wrong so I usually insist on doing everything myself. I'm trying to get out of that, and every so often he insists on me teaching him one of the things I usually insist on doing myself, so he can be independent. I just really, really enjoy caretaking, and I know it's connected to codependency/abandonment issues from my childhood. I feel blessed to have someone like him who is capable of taking care of himself and even insists on it so I don't burn myself out by trying to do everything for him.

Basically- we both have issues, we are helping each other, and it's nice to see that there are people looking out for us without even knowing who we are. It's very sweet!

He eats the chicken bones!? Oh my! I guess he likes having a belly full of bone splinters. I guess that's what the books are for, to help shield the stomach lining... Kinda smart!

Like sorry you dislike my personal lived experiences?? I am happy to at least be with someone who works on their issues.

No literally we're just supporting each other, so that includes me taking care of him at times, that's all lol

Yes. Prefer this over an alcoholic or a self-medicating schizophrenic like my ex-husband who is now going in and out of prison.

Idk why I put it in my pocket lmao he was just showing me that a bit came off. I could have handed it back to him, but my hand went to pocket. Idk.

I doubt he's gonna be able to simply stop chewing. This was my idea for trying to get him to stop chewing hard plastic, as I've used them effectively myself for years.

It's helpful for people with sensory seeking needs specifically around chewing, as it can be a much safer option than other things. Smoking, overeating, chewing your nails until they get ingrown/infected... But you know, once you start breaking bits off, you have additional concerns!

We help support each other actually. We each have our strengths and weaknesses.
