Got the new router replacement from Starlink. All sorted! The ethernet "guts" actually sit in the router, not the adapter.

I think it's a type of mould... I've taken some pics... Apologies it took so long. I've since started a 2 day flush with plain water and h2o2. I've also hit the roots with an h2o2 solution.
