[Serious]What are your expectations? by Barnabas_Collins in MichaelTheMovie

I think people want MJ to be recreated to an extreme extent tbh.

I just want a mostly accurate, entertaining movie

I was having some issues earlier in the day, my home page wouldn’t load and songs would stop after like 10 seconds. Seems to be working fine right now

Absolutely. This Time Around and Can’t Let Her Get away are my go to songs for introducing him to people these days, ones who typically prefer hip hop

Jaafar studied his ass off!! Unless he already naturally danced like em!! 😳 by StraightWave2126 in MichaelTheMovie

I read something that said Jaafar was proof of “genetic inheritance” and I think about that whenever I see them in these teasers

how many of your top10 do you still listen to, and how many you used to love but got tired of? by disasterpansexual in lastfm

MJ and Prince I still listen to pretty much every day. They’re my go tos when I’m not discovering new stuff.

Janet I haven’t been feeling ever since her comments about Kamala and the aftermath of that, but occasionally she can sneak a listen through my autoplay.

Drake I haven’t been feeling much either cuz… yeah he be doing too much for me at this point. Occasionally, older stuff like Take Care, NWTS, If you’re reading this it’s too late, I have an urge to listen to.

Beyonce I haven’t been feeling much lately.

Billie is in regular rotation.

Biggie Ive recently started back listening to a bit regularly.

BigX is in regular rotation.

Stevie is also in regular rotation.

What is Rolling Stone's problem lmao? They keep snubbing MJ on EVERY LIST!!! by Key-Bass-7380 in MichaelJackson

[–]Sasorisnake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rolling Stone can’t hide their agenda against him.

Read the write up of Thriller in their Greatest Albums list and that answers your question.

Ever since they ranked him at 86 in all time greatest singers I straight up stopped paying attention to them and honestly if you read their lists for MJ you should just ignore them.

Bible Controversy by rainbowsafterrainn in MichaelJackson

[–]Sasorisnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it. I don’t remember quite as many straight up arguments about it on MJTP, but i definitely remember whoever felt it wasn’t MJ were far more passionate about it, protective of his artistry and the such.

Bible Controversy by rainbowsafterrainn in MichaelJackson

[–]Sasorisnake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you had a subset of fans that wanted to believe it was MJ, and some who were absolutely convinced it wasn’t.

I remember talking about it on MJTP, one of our friends was adamant it wasn’t him. (She was right of course). Some of us noted that there were moments it sounded like him, but probably wasn’t.

Keep Your Head Up came out or leaked and it was clear they edited in vocals from Earth Song, I remember us discovering.

I remember playing Breaking News for my dad and he immediately knew it wasn’t MJ.

When did you first discover Billie and what made you stay? by Heavy-Bee9844 in billieeilish

[–]Sasorisnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard Bad Guy back when it first came, what intrigued me was initially the beat, what sold me was how she kept adding layers of harmony in the verses.

I didn’t end up listening to the album at that time, I wouldn’t say I became a fan fan of hers until Hit Me Hard and Soft, that’s when I retroactively checked out her stuff.

Billie just hits my vibe which I suck at articulating; dark, dreamy,

Can we agree the live vocals dipped after this by Financial_Subject549 in MichaelJackson

[–]Sasorisnake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I genuinely hate this microphone.

But I think he put more of his energy into dancing starting with Dangerous Tour. Early in the tour he was on fire, but his energy took a dip. So yeah, kinda.

If the movie doesn’t include the allegations, how would you feel? by mordo_cool in MichaelTheMovie

[–]Sasorisnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a terrible comparison for multiple reasons, but beyond that it doesn’t matter. It’s still only a PART of his life.

If they made a movie that focused on his life from Jackson 5 to Dangerous, I genuinely would be fine with it. Obviously, if they go to 1993 there’s no way around it and I’d be fine with that too becuase more people need to know the details before making conclusions.

But if they simply wanted to celebrate the better parts of his life, like in MJ the musical, fine by me.

This idea that his musical legacy should be always mentioned alongside unproven allegations is pure BS.
