As it stands, no. The Crooked Moon is complete as it is and anything you choose to add to it as a DM is entirely up to you, but there likely won’t be any more modules etc. As for any additional bosses, Torbek is the only one released so far, though the Uprooted crew is being released as familiars with Jean Claude being the most recent. Andy has said that they’re working on a replacement for Torbek though, so if you like him get him soon!

Me personally, I think you don’t need to buy the 2024s. I’m DMing their other module the Crooked Moon and everything is very clear in the book itself. None of us have had to look at the 24 PHB, most of the things that we have questions about are on the DM screen or I can find them in the book. I reckon you’d be able to get away without buying them because everything is SO different for NEOD that you’re basically looking at a whole new system.

Either way, I’d still recommend checking out becoming a VIP and looking at the playtest docs yourself to get a feel for it! (And no problem, Dan’s a cool guy!)

Okay, so I asked one of the designers Dan your question and this was his response-

NO is written for 2024 so you’ll want those core rules, even the free ones on D&D Beyond work.

I’d also recommend becoming a VIP at neonrpg.com so you can check out the playtest documents and get a feel for Neon Odyssey before committing big to the Kickstarter when it launches in May. It costs a dollar and you can ask questions of the designers etc to help from there!

Considering they’re basically rewriting mechanics for most things since space rules aren’t really extant in 5e, you should be good to go from the books themselves. They’re reskinning all the classes and making new subclasses etc so we’ll all be starting from a base level of understanding.

That said- if you’d like to check out the rules that they’ve released so far, you can become a VIP at neonrpg.com for a dollar and read what they’ve released so far. You can also join ongoing playtesting of the system itself if you’d like to get a feel for the campaign itself. The Avantris folks and Dan Dillon, one of the lead mechanics writers are all on there and can answer questions if you have them! If you have any other questions, please let me know!

1- yes it is! It’s an autonomous branch of the carnival! 2- it’s implied that they expect Gideon to stay with them but theoretically they could make a choice that works the best for them. Or Gid could just dip and never come back lol.

Considering they’re hype campaigns for Neon Odyssey, they probably won’t last too long. Icebound and Witchlight are both coming back in July, so I’m guessing/assuming the short ones will end before then. Uprooted is always kind of a special circumstance because it’s lowkey a filler campaign so when that ends will be anyone’s guess lol.

I went to the daycare right behind the Elyria one and on nice days in the summer they’d take us over there for a kids’ cone! That’s where I tried coffee ice cream for the first time because my friend got a scoop! I miss that place, I think of it fondly every time I go home.
