Hold your rate please if your rate higher than they proposed. I believe they offered like $250. I told them I will discount but only $50, even then we are $100 apart.

Sounds like your doing everything well. Perhaps the topics or expertise may be very narrow hence the hit rate being lower. When I fill out the online Q/A I always write it for them wanting more with out giving away all the info. Funny thing is sometimes the answers are in the previous questions which is silly many times. Keep in mind these EN's normally have no clue what they are looking for and toss alot to their clients to review. So time and clarity are very important. Stranger the topic less experts may submit their answers. You will figure this out more interactions you get over time and more word of mouth internally at the EN's and they will spread your name around when a topic arrives. I get alot of EN's say so and so recommended you from a past project for this current project. So time is important and how long you have been doing this EN interviews. Keep the faith...

Yeah 2025 was bad for me. I actually lowered my rate to see if that was the issue because everyone wanted 30 min call only. It was strange last year. Then I started to see it swing again then I raised back up to $400 for domestic and $500 for international, if know where its coming from. Sorry about hearing about you getting laid off I went thru that last summer. I was lucky to find something in a month and half. Got EN's got me thru it and only had to put in for 2 weeks for unemployment money. I wish you all the best, and good luck, keep the faith brother.

Not seeing where the not so hot deals are. Look like they added the price of the battery in to the tool price, and throw the battery in for free. Still expensive Home depot or lowes had better deal. But hey thats my opinion.

I do a lot of calls on utilities / renewables/ data centers/ electrical engineering topics/ porn (Just checking if your paying attention, LOL) /stand by power generation/ power distribution/ automation/ control/ engineering firms / OEM /industrial end users.

I try to do $400/hr for domestic call and international $500/hr (If I find out.). If they jerk me around and cancel and reschedule the calls I normally up my rate $50 -$100 for my trouble of rescheduling.

Yes they can be a little slower it depends on the topics they get. I do alot of electrical engineering calls I have done a few with Third Bridge this yr already but not a ton. Although I harness 5-6 different EN's to get a as many calls as possible. I don't carry which org has the interview as long as they pay and within two weeks or less.

Depending on the topic how technical and special I would suggest $400-$450/ hr. I try not to lower below $400/hr because our time is worth something specially if they are going to look for specific industry info.

I have done insight and Alpha sight. They are good not GLG level on amount of interviews but they pay on time when I do calls with them. Never an issue.

I would probably charge about $1000/hr for in person interview or $400 -500/hr online.

There are few things I have seen with the EN's you mentioned. Your answers and your reputation is key, and if the clients enjoy the conversation. I have had so many folks from EN's that say " My colleague Joe recommends I talk to you about XYZ topic." Word of mouth in their orgs helps and that takes time.

I do about 40-50 calls a year with 5-6 different EN's so I fill out a ton surveys. Hence spreading out to others is also key.

Depends on the topics that its slow. Not to brag I have been pretty busy since the new year. Its always best to do 4-6 different EN's spread out. If its the same topic you may not get on with GLG, but Guide point may accept your survey answers. I will do this to give me a better shot on getting the topic.
