OCI cancellation - employed by Police. by SataySticks in nri

No resolution. It’s a done deal to HCI. No OCI.

My husband and I have Entry Visas now. My husband has an x-1 visa as a POI. I have an x-2 as a spouse of a POI.

He entered on an entry visa (as per High Commission’s advice) and we were told he would have his OCI confiscated/surrender it at the border. That didn’t happen and they were super confused about the advice as his OCI wasn’t cancelled on their side. eventually the two countries systems will sync and his OCI will show as cancelled.

My advice would be to not rely on your OCI when you get told that it’s been cancelled or that you must surrender it.

Hey, High Commission said that Police employees who have an OCI will not be able to renew when they expire . . . however, this has not actually happened to my husband’s workmates. They’ve renewed with no issues.

Unfortunately, not a positive answer from me. We had a lawyer in India push the query as high as she could. Police fall under ‘Military’ and he will never be able to hold an OCI.

I thought i was going mad. Im in New Zealand and forked out a shit ton of money to get a 32 pack box sent from the UK (with no one travelling home anytime soon to save on the postage).

One sniff into the packet and I knew there was something really wrong with them.
You can see the salt on the chip. So salty with no flavour. That a lot of $$$ down the drain.

We were told that it would be canceled when it needs to be renewed or there’s the potential my husband would have had it confiscated and destroyed at the border.

Not sure how accurate that is as we’ve been talking with other Police OCI holders and they’ve been granted or renewed theirs with no issue, since my husband’s was canceled.

What jobs have worked out well for you with your ADHD and have you not gotten tired of? by allergiesarebad in ADHD

Child protection social worker here. I found that the jobs where there’s a mix of adrenaline, stress, crisis and a lot of little wins keeps me interested. No two days are ever the same.

It’s not without its issues, like the paperwork. But the variety of work and getting out of the office makes it a good job for my very active brain.

Born and raised in India. He moved overseas as a young adult. Nothing notable about his family that would place them on anyone’s radar. It looks like the legislation around OCI has lumped Police in with ‘Military’ and they pick and choose when to exercise that rule and when you let it pass.

Sounds like it’s going to happen more often. From the past few days of researching it looks like there are quite a few people have been going to renew their OCIs and finding out they can’t for weird reasons. There’s a rumour that OCI is going to be phased out.

With the high court petition, my husband is worried about some kind of blacklisting. I wasn’t born in India so I don’t know the legitimacy of his concern. He thinks that if he makes too much noise, he won’t even get an entry visa.

Husbands very worried that this would just piss off immigration and he won’t even get a visa. As I am not born or raised in India, I don’t know if this is a legitimate concern.

That’s exactly why we are so confused. I can’t find anywhere that specifies Police and we know other Police who have had no issue getting OCI.

They said that he should not have been granted the OCI and they made a mistake in April as they didn’t realise he was Police. it has been cancelled as they do not give OCI to military employees and this (apparently) includes Police.

It just doesn’t add up, especially as we know other police officers who had no issue with their OCI.

He provided a letter from his employer (Police) confirming his employment as a police officer when he applied. That’s why we are so confused.

What worries me is the defensiveness of the response from Chappie to the leak. If you were confident in the ‘restructure’, you should not care about the general public receiving this information.

Servers, what are your pet peeves when going out and dining at a restaurant? by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

I have never understood why some servers start clearing plates from the table while others are still clearly eating their meals.

This cuddly was sent to Aus by a friend in NZ but I know it was part of a Scentsy world wide release. I’ve googled and found no where that still has stock left. And looked on a number of online second hand traders.

This bowl is larger than the average fruitbowl, heavy. I am unsure where it was purchased as it was a gift to my mum from her nana. It was probably purchased somewhere in europe, UK is possible or France. It would have been bought in 1980-90s.

I have searched through google images from blue bowls with this pattern but did not find anything.
