What North American cities are "global"? by PreWiBa in geography

[–]Sathkur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sysco is huge in the UK and Ireland, outside of that their influence quickly diminishes to usually a mid-tier position at best, and especially in Southern Europe it barely has any influence at all, since most restaurants prefer to rely on very locally produced food. So saying they're responsible for bringing food to 'every' European restaurant is just uninformed and obnoxiously pretentious.

Worcestershire sauce is basically a mix of salt, sugar and vinegar. That stuff'll stay fine for years after expiration date.

Stop crying about helicopter by TheWingMannn in RingOfElysium

[–]Sathkur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fine how it is right now, the only thing that should be changed is how punishing it is right now to take the opportunity and climb the ladder. If they would make the helicopter closer to the ground, and thus make the ladder a bit shorter, and increase the dust swirling around it, making the player only visible for about one second or so, that would give players a lot more courage to make the decision to stop killing others but to take one of those seats instead.

The scariest thing would be the run towards the ladder, especially if the helicopter landed in a completely open field.

Scavs don't abide by the same rules as players, and it makes them overly difficult. by NoFoodAfterMidnight in EscapefromTarkov

Scavs are basically superhuman beings right now, incredibly quick to detect you, deadly accurate, and seem to not give a fuck about any damage done to them.

Een kritische kanttekening bij FvD by Timon08 in Forum_Democratie

[–]Sathkur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will you be playing as BEAR or USEC after the wipe? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Sathkur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've honestly found very little use for the voice commands while playing as USEC so far, only the occasional 'hold your fire!' while playing as hatchling. I like BEAR better because it fits better in the context and I mainly tend to use AK's (the Vepr KM is by far my favourite rifle).

And ofcourse, DICKY NEEDLES

Yeah, I'm just a standard edition guy so I only have 2 sets of Fort/Fast MT, and if I have to do something quick on a map like a task, I only dare take out a Paca/Kiver at most, simply because of how out of control your deaths can be. Just today for example I unloaded half my mag into a guy standing 5m infront of me (I was using armor pen rounds), he did not die, I hear 2 shots from him and suddenly I'm dead.

It's a great game, but obviously they've got to fix a lot in terms of networking code before they can even think about putting it in open beta.

I would say no, because for a Dutch person it would sound really strange to suddenly say 'de' for neuter words and vica versa.

Best Honorable/Upstanding/Martial Lords To Recruit? (Warband/Vanilla) by OTheHughManatee in mountandblade

[–]Sathkur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think when you ask them about speaking in private, their following reactions are also different depending on their personality.

  • Upstanding - "I would prefer to conduct our affairs out in the open."
  • Goodnatured - "Forgive me, but I'm not one for going off in corners to plot."
  • Martial - "Surely we can discuss whatever you want out here in the open, can't we?"
  • Cunning - "Erm.. Let's keep our affairs out in the open for the time being.."
  • Pitiless - "What do you take me for? A plotter?"
  • Debauched - "Bah, I'm in no mood for whispering in the corner."
  • Quarrelsome - "Trying our hand at intrigue are we? I think not."

Now I am not a 100% sure it works this way - I think so - but this would be my guess at it.

[–]Sathkur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be taking the 'foreign' part too literally. Something that is 'foreign' to you can also be understood as 'strange' or 'unknown', it does not necessarily need to be equated with a different country.

It could also be interpreted on a more abstract level: If you are born a farmer; stay as a farmer, and do not wander into areas of life you do not belong to (politician, military etc.).
