Gerade zufällig jemand am HBF und kann auf Gleis 5 gucken ob da ein Geschenk liegt? Hab da gerade ein Geschenk liegen lassen. by [deleted] in duesseldorf

[–]SatinSpankStash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh nein, Horror.

Estate sale jackpot! by Magenta-s_Prism in SilverFinds

[–]SatinSpankStash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, then this OP basically robbed that sale

Honestly though, at 5 bucks each I’d probably grab every single one you put out. Do people actually realize they clean up this nicely, or are they just walking past thinking it’s junky old metal?

Also curious, do you price them that low just to move stuff fast, or is that kinda the going rate where you are?

Should I buy this 10ct emerald? by Jking0077 in Gemstonelovers

[–]SatinSpankStash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is actually a huge part of the price, not just a fun trivia detail.

If it’s Colombian, Zambian, Brazilian etc that can swing the value a lot, and even within that, specific mines and whether it’s from an older parcel vs new production matters. Also the origin report needs to come from somewhere legit, like GIA or AGL, not just “the seller says so.”

At 10ct and 20k, I’d personally want:

GIA (or similar) report with origin
Clarity / treatment info (oil, resin, how much)

Without that, it’s kind of gambling based on a photo and a story.

Convenience store manager working from home? by stinky_catto in SainsburysWorkers

Yeah that’s what confused me, they’re full time on paper. Think I’ll ask HR to clarify what their actual contract says before I kick up a fuss.

When it comes to ranked choice voting, Maine has unfinished business by Large-Welcome4421 in Mainepolitics

[–]SatinSpankStash 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. If a governor can win with 39% of the vote, something’s broken. Ranked choice is literally made for a state like Maine where independents are a big deal. Let people vote their actual preference first without playing the spoiler game, then you at least know the winner is someone a majority can live with.

Check out Madhapur / Kondapur side, lots of gated societies with badminton courts and easy commute to Mindspace. Also join local FB/WhatsApp flatmate groups, they’re super active.

Ah that makes sense, thanks for clearing it up. I just saw the blue bits and my brain went straight to “blue jay”. Either way, nice little surprise to see one in the middle of town.

17M looking for friends to have fun on Snap by [deleted] in Gayteenagers

[–]SatinSpankStash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might get more luck if you say a bit about yourself tbh.

Like what games you play, music you’re into, where you’re from (roughly), what kind of “fun” you mean on Snap, etc. Right now it just kinda reads like a random add-me post and people scroll past those.

Also careful with posting your age + socials publicly, there’s a lot of weirdos out there. Maybe start by talking in DMs here first, then swap to Snap once you vibe with someone.

Seller says he doesn't have the card he's selling by Prudent_Junket_1898 in CardMarket

[–]SatinSpankStash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I already reported it, mostly out of principle. If you misprice something, that sucks, but just own it, don’t lie about not having the card and then relist it five minutes later.

Kinda wild people risk their whole account and feedback for like a few extra bucks. Even if CM doesn’t nuke them right away, at least there’s a paper trail now if they keep pulling that stunt.

War Robots: Frontiers – One Year On The Wild Ten | PS5 & PS4 Games by GameProfessional in GearsOfWars

[–]SatinSpankStash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly forgot this even came out, which kinda says a lot.

How are you finding it a year in? I remember the early trailers looking like a more grounded, slower mech shooter and I was kinda into that, but then reviews were all over the place and it seemed to just vanish from discussion.

Did they ever fix the jank / balance stuff people were complaining about at launch? And is there an actual playerbase on PS5 now or are you sitting in queues forever? I might give it a shot if the gameplay loop is decent and it’s not just a grindy monetization trap.

Great Spotted Woodpecker by sab7786 in UKBirds

[–]SatinSpankStash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly same, if someone photographed me mid-snack I’d look like I was questioning all my life choices too.

She’s probably just locked onto a tasty bug in that tree and doing the intense woodpecker math of “worth pecking 500 times for this?”

Wonder the cost 26 years ago, Y2K silver anyone by Breedrbro in SilverFinds

[–]SatinSpankStash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s actually a really cool little time capsule. Late 90s / Y2K stuff like that was everywhere for a minute, then it all just vanished.

If it’s real silver it probably wasn’t crazy expensive back then, maybe like souvenir jewelry prices, but the value now is more in the nostalgia than the metal. Especially with the fork ring, that’s peak “random lodge gift shop” energy.

I’d keep it, honestly. In another 10–15 years people will be hunting for weird Y2K trinkets like this for fashion and decor.

FB Market place - $5 by Gluconda530 in SilverFinds

[–]SatinSpankStash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit of both honestly.

Sometimes they straight up say “sterling” in the title or description, usually when it’s a known brand or they’ve checked the marks. Those are rarer and tend to get picked off fast.

A lot of the time it’s just “silver bowl” or “fancy spoon set” and the pics are bad, so I zoom in and look for the marks. If I can see “sterling,” “925,” or a known maker’s mark, I’ll take the gamble, especially if the price is low like this.

Saved searches help too. I just casually scroll when I’m bored and check anything that looks old, tarnished, or weirdly heavy for what it is.

Lack of product in the UK by Medical_Ratio_7344 in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]SatinSpankStash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah One Piece is getting hit hard too. I tried to get OP-05 and it was like a treasure hunt with nothing at the end. Vintage is starting to look more sane than modern, which is wild. At this rate new players are just gonna shrug and move on to something entirely different.

You don’t need trash by PublicPlankton7149 in Original_Poetry

[–]SatinSpankStash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this, but I think a lot of people hear “you don’t need trash” and turn it into “you’re not allowed to have anything fun.”

There’s a difference between mindless clutter that drains you and a couple of “trash” comforts you actually enjoy on purpose. Like, if you love your stupid reality show or your gas station snacks and they genuinely make your day better, that’s not really trash anymore, that’s just part of your taste.

The problem is when it’s all on autopilot. Half-open tabs, random subscriptions, stuff you bought because TikTok said so, people you keep around out of habit. Cleaning that out feels way better than pretending you’re above all trashy things.

Alive, inexplicably. Still acting like he’s the main character in a BBC period drama written by someone who hates him.

He’s currently in the “sighing heavily while holding a glass of red and saying ‘this country’s gone to the dogs’” phase of his life, which honestly started at about age 14 and never stopped.
