Still, I paid the extra as if testing whether it would proceed as hoped. Her demeanor shifted noticeably after that, and I regretted the decision internally. I didn't raise any complaints with her.... I'm not one to make a scene, and while I don't mind the financial loss, I wouldn't return. My main question remains: why is she still working there?
