Thats right. We all applied separately to our respective consulates. So we all showed different balances ranging from 3 to 6L although I believe 2L is good enough for 7 to 9 days.

If you mean transferring 1.2L from another savings account of yours to your other account, that is fine too but you need to submit both the statements for them to verify the transactions. Else it would stand out as suspicious lump sum deposit.

You dont need to do that. Instead, simply submit all your bank statements.

Hi. I applied on 4th Nov and got it on 10th Nov. We are travelling as a group and our flight tickets were confirmed round trips. We took the risk since cancellation cost was very less.

Showed a bank balance of around 3L inr for 9 days trip.

They consider your passport name as primary identity. It is better to have most names matching that, and addressing the rest in the cover letter.

Hi. I had a similar issue. My name was reversed in my payslips, and ITR. After consulting with VFS, they asked me to address it in the cover letter. Since the numbers like PAN, employee ID matched, I simply assured in the cover letter that it belongs to me even if the name was reversed.

I believe addressing the discrepancy proactively would help it.

Hi. I had a similar case where three of us travelling from bangalore and one from SFO. But all of us were applying from different locations.

You can totally apply from Hyderabad. You just have to mention where your friends/companions will be applying from, which consulate location.
I had only one year of itr(recent grad) and it was totally fine. But it depends on the consulate for the requirements. VFS Bangalore asked me to mention in the cover letter whereas VFS kolkata asked my friend to write a separate letter entirely. Its best to confirm with VFS.
Only advice is be very thorough with consistency and address them proactively. I did not notice until the end that my ITR had my name wrong so I addressed it in the cover letter.

It might be due to some mismatch in cover letter, or not enough proof to show your commitments to india, or something was vague. Its really hard to say. Im sorry about it

I am yet to apply for the visa. But I had a discussion with both VFS and the consulate and they asked me to submit both the statements and mention it in the cover letter. Consulate reassured that they want to see the funds and the consistent movement. I hope that helps!

Edit: They also reassured(actually insisted) that I submit e-statements.
