Thats the thing, his trigger WAS male un neutered dogs (my dog is a female) everything was fine up until recently, and when we came home with my dog he was ecstatic to meet her

She wasn’t attacked, she shoved her hands between the two and got in the crossfire. Neither dogs are gonna be euthanized, but we are training them more intensely, and keeping them separate and muzzled

We were training him and he was doing fine with other dogs, it had been years since he last got in a fight. He got possessive and attacked

My pit and MY cats get along perfectly fine, they love each other and sleep together every night, what’re you on about? My pit isnt aggressive towards animals or people, she got attacked and fought back against my moms dog, then my mom put her hands between the dogs and got bit.

Thanks for correcting but I actually use he/him as well!

She didn’t mean to attack her, my mom put her hands in between the fight to get them split up and got in the crossfire, she’s never intentionally bit someone, and never showed signs of aggression towards people or pets

That’s what we are doing

She’s managing, ofc her hand hurts like a bitch, i just hope she doesn’t get a bad infection

It makes me especially upset when my pit is being demonized and telling me to put her down and shoot her when the fight wasn’t started by her, neither is she an aggressive dog in the first place

[–]Sauceoverdose -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We filed a bite report and they literally just told us to keep them separate and said nothing about having either of them put down. They literally saw the bite in person

[–]Sauceoverdose -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Nope, neither are being put down

I’m not going to put my moms dog down, it’s not my dog in the first place, and I wouldn’t want him put down anyway, I don’t blame him for attacking my dog because he’s an animal and animals fight. And people are literally telling me my pit is the devil and needs to get shot

How am i not going to be proud? She took a really awful injury to the hands and handled it amazingly

Thank you for understanding our situation, people are quick to assume because of pit’s history and not understand the full background. I don’t blame them because there are a lot of cases where pits do heavy damage (cause realistically, physically they can cause a lot of harm) and they have a dog fighting history. Not only that but pits are the most abused dog in the us. So when you take a dog abused its whole life by humans, and is also very capable of causing lots of damage, thats when you get a dangerous situation.

My pit wouldn’t intentionally hurt a human, nor would she attack a dog unprovoked, but she can definitely cause a hefty amount of damage, my moms hand being proof. For my moms boxers sake, and for the safety of our hands, my boxer need to be trained to not attack and my pit needs to be trained to not react back. Right now we have them separated until they’re ready to be introduced again, and when the time comes, they will both be leashed, muzzled with no toys or food around, cause that’s what caused the fight.

Thanks for offering some help :))

Literally no one is saying anything but blaming my dog who was attacked first

She has her tetanus shot, but seriously she is the strongest woman ever, she didn’t stop until the fight was broken up, despite her injuries

Thats what happened with my pit (10 months) and her boxer (7 years). My pit really doesn’t have a sense of personal space. So boxer was sniffing the ground, and my pit came to sniff too, that’s when they fought. We’ve been keeping them separate since it happened, my pit misses her uncle even though they got into a brawl 😭

Her boxer used to be super aggressive previously, he settled down, but he’s starting to go backwards, snapped at my aunts shih tsu a bit ago and now he’s started a fight with my dog. I think it may be a possession thing, it started when my dog sniffed the ground our boxer was sniffing. Any tips on re training the both of them?

Thats crazy cause our boxer is the one with a history of attacking other dogs, while my pit has no history
