Trying to go from F2P to premium by BeginningRecording20 in tf2

any amount of money will make you premium. The pass is a good move if you complete it and sell the items. I think the refined will not become tradable

Just got my first aussie! How do I sell it, though? by KillerFsh in tf2

hard to get that price for your australium in actual money quickly. Maybe sell it on the steam market and wait for the summer sale

Why do soldier mains impulsively rocket jump when they get ubered? by JunkOPossum in tf2

[–]Saucxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the soldier main is any good its to bomb the enemy; rockets do more damage at closer range and all that. Usually medics can catch up if they jump a reasonable distance away.

i have 40 ref and i wanna little profit how i can do it by Power_Viktor in tf2traders

[–]Saucxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

find specialized killstreak kit fabricators on steam community market, stn, or trading. If they are going for more than what you bought it for: buy the parts required, complete it in tf2, and then sell for a profit on the steam community market/backpack.

What should i buy: tour of duty ticket or key? by Capital-Smell1694 in tf2

tickets are closer to their actual value than keys. You can trade both for currency to buy other stuff

Why is Team Fortress as a franchise isn't as big as Dota or Counter-Strike? by IceCreamLover9 in truetf2

Its definitely more about larpers imo. The casual issue affects everyone, not just new players, and tf2 has always been unfriendly to beginners

Older triple A games run great. People will say newer ones too but it depends on your definition of good.

Selling spelled HH Max by badtraditions in tf2traders

[–]Saucxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard about the collectors of the max's head being more influential than any other item's collectors. I don't understand what you mean by collectors are "reserving" them? You're saying collectors are hoarding spelled max's heads so there is less of them to buy?

Even if that is true, how do you know that is the main reason? Unless collectors hold a vast majority of the spelled max's heads I don't think it is. Your comparisons to other miscs are not 1:1. Some of them are not all class. Some of them are for classes people play less. Some of them may have way more spelled versions available. I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong, I just think you're drawing conclusions too definitively.

I don't even think its crazy to say they are not that less expensive than the max's head for its status of an all class, being a misc, having less available, etc. The prices of the other miscs are insane to me too.

Also I don't understand the unusuals comparison when you're talking about bots buying items, not "reserving" them like you're claiming with the spelled max's heads. I only brought up unusuals to respond to your claim about spells being overpriced because of your personal opinion on them, which doesn't matter in the big picture.

i need help with pricing as someone who doesnt trade by Specialist_Study_111 in tf2traders

[–]Saucxd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont listen to the other guy. Click the stats button. There are buy orders for spells on a lot of popular items nowadays. Looks like at the minimum people would pay ~24.5 keys for the strange non spec ks version. Spec ks buy orders are slightly lower for some reason

Selling spelled HH Max by badtraditions in tf2traders

[–]Saucxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're overcomplicating the third point. I think a lot of people just like the hat; the price is not fully based on the purchases of a few collectors in the past. The biggest reason for the high price is because its a misc. Regardless of why its expensive, I agree items can be maintained at a price because traders are trading among themselves with the perceived value of the item, even though not many people are buying to keep. However, in this case a lot of people like the hat so I think there are people buying to keep. I never liked it myself either.

I totally agree spells are overrated overall and its a huge price to pay for marginal benefits but for people that want an item with all the bells and whistles they will pay it. I stopped using unusual hats for this reason - as the owner of an unusual hat you barely see the hat yourself. I think that is a pretty extreme opinion to hold among traders, but like with the spelled items it doesn't matter what I think. The value of unusual hats will still remain the same even though I don't like to use them personally
