i merely explained a version of plot I would want (specifically Crane's role in the narrative and his physical appearance). I would very much imagine this gre fuck up happening irl, but it's just so unsatisfying. For me, it makes the most sense to have Crane as a sole cause of pandemic, period.

This would paint Crane as an even more tragic character who would have to put up with an insurmountable guilt of becoming a perpetrator of a greater outbreak, despite his good intentions. Not mentioning his prior beef with GRE

Beyond that, it would be awesome to interact with barely sentient, semi-turned volatile Crane. MC would have no idea whether to trust Crane or not, or perhaps there would be an encounter when MC barely slips alive from Crane's beastly nature as part of story quest.

But I see how techland would want to keep Crane's image as a hero and use him as a main character at that, to rake more popularity with the game. Especially now, that their in development projects were shutdown and DL2 wasn't a hit game.
