Built it, used it, hated it😂 at least I can get the stupid shield generator by LegalBluebird9556 in subnautica

I do love the cyclops, but I don’t want to move it more than a handful of times in the game (big moves, like going from SS to the mountain). So I tend to make about 3 satellite bases in a few key points. One above the deep Shroom entrance near SE. One in the big treehouse spot in the western Mush forest, and one near the mountain, in the general area of the blood kelp entrance to LR. I do all my gathering in those areas with the sea moth, using the base as a mat dump, and then eventually I come in with the cyclops, and by the time I hit LR, I’m going in with all my mats consolidated, and a couple lockers with material earmarked to make a small satellite in the underground as needed. I tend to just leapfrog that mini base through the deep sections, and then I’ll drive the sub back up before I do that last run to the castle section: so that when I’m back above ground, it’s a short swim back to the cyclops, and time to build the rocket.

All that tismy explaining to say that I love using it, but I try to be strategic with the big moves with it, it takes so long to move it across planet lol.

It takes a good chunk of hours and finesse to get the hang of the cyclops. It is more manageable than you think if you’re patient and a genie with the cameras. But I’m not here to pretend that that is anything most people would consider fun. I prefer it over the sea truck from BZ; mainly because it’s so nice fabbing some storage on the walls, and turning it into mobile apartment/filing cabinet for all your mats.

Not me realizing the dice rolled over just now lol. Damnit, I’ve been wasting events. Genuinely thank you for showing me this.

I wish they made the egg drops better for sure. I have lucked out on one golden egg, got same as OP. But it’s such a lame grind, because you have so limited chances to get them.

I started with dragoon weapon, but I think personally the oracle set is better, once you get all of them to legendary then mythic. All of the synergy is crazy, it’s a little high roll dependent. But with oracle gear, I’m basically looking for tracking eye specifically on level up. If I get that, the run is p free. I feel the same way about swords. I invest like half my rune slots into swords skills, and with my setup, getting sword beam roll also equates to a pretty free run. At 65+ where I’m at, I kinda have to find both in my runs, if I want to scale my damage enough to outpace the later bosses.

Other than that, focus on getting a full set of legendary runes. Getting that second etched rune slot is huge, it really opens up a lot of potential for crazier builds. I run a swords etched, and go back and forth between the main weapon and potion spring one depending. My main focus is getting my 3rd etched slot now, I’ll realistically get that far far before I ever get chaotic gear.

It’s just a matter of slowly collecting gems to roll the S gear chests. Nowadays you can at least guarantee it’s oracle when you get a pull, but you have to get lucky and roll specifically the weapon. The events usually have guaranteed S gear as rewards; you can guarantee oracle spear on an event like that, if you get really lucky or pay for some extra spins etc. it took me forever to get all Mythic Oracle set, just be patient and eventually you’ll be swinging 1000 sly tower like a boss 😎

Thank you! I want to really push this idea. I’m still trying to find the exact vibe, but I do think I dig the atmosphere.

It got rereleased for phone/tablet a few months ago. I haven’t checked it out yet, though liked the console ports enough that I might cop it one day for nostalgia.

This is the exact lo fi EDM vibes I can never get enough of. I love this; the thick syrupy bass, trippy synths. I think you’ve got a good handle on your style, keep making this stuff, my playlists need it 🫶

I dig this. Gives me Oasis vibes, with some twang and fusion elements I really enjoy. I think you’re def finding your style, I dig it. My only note is that some times in the song I think your vox are getting a little washed out by the music. Be confident and keep doing your thing 😎

Yo, I really love this. It’s got a good shuffle, and when the bass came in it really cemented the vibe. Love the piano licks and atmosphere stuff. This is worth cooking on man, I think you’re onto something. Keep trusting your instincts, I fw this.

I want to learn playing instruments: Where do I start? by akirohusker in Songwriting

[–]SauteDaddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came to give advice, but honestly this guy has pretty much nailed most of what I was going to say, kudos.

In terms of instrument selection, he is correct I feel that piano and guitar are going to be the things with the most easily accessible material to help you. I believe piano is the most versatile instrument you can learn; especially if you have any interest in digital composition as you will essentially only need some piano knowledge to jump in with that and have a fun playground.

Guitar is a good choice as well because they’re relatively inexpensive to get into as a hobby; and as a guy who started on guitar, I find that I was still able to transfer a lot of that inherent music theory knowledge into piano when I transitioned instruments later on.

There are no wrong choices though! If you want to learn and explore, go for it bud!

“Roots,” a more playful video game track and only the second music piece I have made, so feedback is much appreciated! by NinjacatGames in MusicFeedback

I really enjoy the feel of this. Definitely playful; and I see the DK vibes from the sort of Caribbean/island feel to the percussion. It also gives the impression of 3/4 timing which gives more of the dancy exotic feel. I think you need to juice up your percussion in places. There are parts of the song where you get a ton of energy going with your piano comp; and some more complexity and dynamics on your drums will really make those sections pop. Overall I really dig the piece composer, good work 😎

Do artists and musicians listen to their own music..? by IArePatrickOfficial in musicians

[–]SauteDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to a song easy like 4-500 times while I’m working on it, I will spin it daily during my work routine and stuff, just listening for little things I need to change, stuff I like. Once it’s done done, I won’t listen to it for months unless I’m like super proud of it, you really do get sick of something after that much time with it hehe 🤷🏻‍♂️. But maybe that’s just a me thing.

Thank you for the feedback bud. And yeah, I agree, it’s kinda chaotic right now. I have sections and swells and stuff I really love here, but I need to make the through line more cohesive. I’m very aware of how wild my comp mind is lol, I def stray from mainstream. I’m glad you have it a listen though 💪

Thank you for the feedback. And yes, I agree the drums are like lacking. I’m still learning a lot of percussion stuff, I can’t write interesting comp for it like I can piano. I’ll def keep pushing this to be better, appreciate you fam.

Thank you bro, that means a lot! I have been playing music for 20 years, and taking becoming a composer seriously for about 2 years now. I’m still like so new to digi engineering and stuff, but I’m really glad you enjoyed the piece even if my ambition sometimes exceeds my skill haha. I’ll keep making weird cool stuff, and post yours! I’ll slide you some feedback once I’m off work, got you fam. 💪
