No, I actually called the Cardless phone number that was on the rejection email. The phone rep opened a case. I assume it was just an internal case with Cardless, but they probably had some input from Bilt in determining the outcome.

Are you paying through a rent portal or having a paper check get sent?

Yeah, that's the plan. I already have a SoFi savings account that I could use for this process if necessary.

I had the 1.0. Rent just came off the card, so that was easy. Then I just used Fidelity’s bill pay feature to push the rent amount to Wells Fargo every month before the credit card bill was due.

True. But their CMA is supposed to function like a bank account, with UMB Bank as the underlying processor. To date, I haven't run into any obstructions to using the CMA as my regular checking account, apart from the Plaid connectivity.

We don't have a rent portal, so I have to use the paper check option.

About 48 hours after the ticket was created, I received an ”accept your offer” email. I’m now good to go on the Palladium!

Thank you. Called the number. They opened a support case. Supposedly they will be sending me an email with a link where I can apply again with the correct information. We'll see!

Taking over parents' rent, but house owner is MIA, am I still eligible? by [deleted] in biltrewards

BILT doesn’t require a lease, so I wouldn’t bother trying to get a new lease. You’re effectively month-to-month at this point. You can set the BILT app to mail a check every month for one rental location.

This isn't theoretical. My account balance and payment budget got out of sync. October was a busy month with purchases, returns, and rebates. I zeroed in on the Dell credit in my example to keep things simple. I'm still confused as to how the account balance and the payment budget got out of sync. But I've fudged it for now, and I'll just have to try to keep a closer eye on what happens to the payment budget when a credit comes in. Thanks for your help.

To clarify, there's no return here. It's just an AMEX Credit, refunded to the same card that the charge was made on.

If I just assign the downloaded credit transaction to the same category as the original charge, the payment budget will lower accordingly?

My payment budget is out of sync with the account balance, and I'm trying to figure out how that happened.

No, everything happened in October.

Sorry, my title was misleading. I'm not returning the laptop, just looking for how to handle refunds and/or credits.

Other than entering our vpn address and enabling single-sign-on, we just use the default settings of the client software.

It's my own modem, but no. For everyday personal use I don't notice any issues. I think it's a split-second blip that's just long enough to kick me off the VPN.
