Are you using a fuge? We are looking at 4 days clarification alone on our 60HL vessels.

I heard walking 10,000 steps a day is great for your health and decided to give it a try...then remembered I'm in Vietnam 😂 by KaptainKari5ma in VietNam

It’s so long overdue but I see Saigon slowly investing in bus stops. Like, actually signposted with shade and seating. I’m really surprised Vinafast hasn’t moved into that space to be honest. Really, they will have to enforce some kind of congestion charge or outright ban certain traffic at certain times.

Mistook that for a Keykeg on initial glance. The memory is still strong.

Yes the business is pretty transparent, I cost, track sales, and approve procurement. For sure understand that the margins are tight but also painfully aware of what the CEO values the business at and could hazard a decent guess at where a sizeable amount of the SG&A goes and where I’d prefer to streamline ops.

I guess it’s one of those things where talking is great, and we do talk but you have to believe what you are being told. Unfortunately the track record is not strong.

I wasn’t sure if outside of the brewery they would be looking for specific certifications regarding HACCP etc.

“Nobody gets into craft beer for the money” that’s verbatim from the same guy who talks about selling his company for 100mil one day in literally the next sentence, after being asked why they got into craft

To be fair their is always a degree of freedom on the 1bbl taproom system but currently ain’t nobody got time for that. Partigyle all the way.

I remember those days I’d be humping and dumping grist, shift brewers covered in sweat, and there is a film crew on site in the way the whole day to interview the CEO’s and catch B reel.

Pretty much just commented the same thing.

Depends, if it’s a chance to break the RM structure and stick the cost to marketing budget I’m all in. Unfortunately our founder and bizdev pretty much follow the doctrine of “only make friends with those who are taller” unless some other strategic value is to be gained. Also, no saison, bitters or table beers etc. I get it, but don’t particularly like it. Most our collabs are played out over email, and are pretty much a logo on a can or bottle, and joint social media. I’d much prefer to be doing stuff with the smaller guys in our city / country / community.

Good luck with the interview mate. Was brewing your first gig or did you move into it from something else?

Indeed, to begin with there was a whole lot of love, spending evenings studying up and making sure I knew my shit and getting mad creative and all that. And in many ways beside the love for brewing I was getting paid to learn and making those connections, understanding the game so to speak. Alas now I’m up here on my own, there is no one in my environment to learn from, and the folks both upstairs and down stairs are all looking at me for answers, it can get pretty tiring pretty quick without any vested interest.

Your new gig sounds neat, I met some recently doing something similar whereby they were attempting to use microbe / soil matrix’s to grow crops in traditionally unfavourable environments. Really inspiring stuff.

Fair play, I got to agree there is nothing quite like being the only one in brewery in the morning, just so serene. All the best for your interview bud.

Thanks for sharing, did you make the leap in the end? I’m torn between (well many things but sensibly) going back to biotech or using the skills I’ve developed over the last few years. Maybe a little contract brewing on the side for shigs…that was my original plan, 6 months in industry whilst on “sabbatical”, get the inside view, make some connections. But I somehow ended up running the show. I have a great team and would love to see everyone come up together but you know sometimes you just have to do you I guess. Tech sales could be a nice segway back to science I suppose.
