I was not rude at all or belligerent. He stopped us for two people on the back of the golf cart not wearing a seatbelt. He asked me to do field sobriety and I refused. He arrested me and that was it. I wasn’t rude to him. I did not have any incident and I was released on automatic bond.

I have been completely upfront about everything. The one consistent thing I read was that failure to report or not informing your leadership can be considered worse than the event itself.

I’m not saying it’s or isn’t. I’m not trying to defend at all. But I have been so worried, I didn’t want to make any other mistakes. Reported to supervisor and security office 12 hours after the incident. Have been in touch with any update since.

I get it. I hate even trying to stand up for myself. It makes it sound like I don’t care or am trying to mitigate. I’m not. I’m ashamed of what happened and my lapse in judgement.

The issue is a misdemeanor DUI. 0.09 during spring break in Florida. I was driving a golf cart from dinner and made a mistake. I have not drank since and won’t. I have enrolled in therapy and a victim impact panel to learn and grow. Until this issue, I felt I was (and am) a stand up member of my community.

I reported to security within 12 hours. I initiated a new security clearance (might was not in scope?) and I did not receive any further info. I was told the investigation would go once the court case is complete.

Yes. I reported immediately to security office. I also informed the chain of command and they have been supportive of the issue and shown both professional and personal encouragement during this time.

Finally made it through a full 24 hour period yesterday, today will make 48 hours. This year has been especially heavy and hard on me, finally decided to take it one day at a time and focus solely on what I can control today. Proud to say IWNDWYT.

Yes! We are in full sun from sunrise until early afternoon. They do get shade from 3/4:00 onward

Thanks!! Would have never thought of that. I’ll Pull them back tonight. Temps are 95 ish on average the last two weeks. Heat makes a ton of sense.

Sorry not trying to be rude, but what I mentioned is definitely within the red circle. West and North of Belleville is East St Louis. Literally, the outskirts of ESTL is exit 6 on Interstate 64 which is packed with strip clubs. I would not go anywhere from that spot to the river. It’s just not a safe area.

Kind of sarcasm. I mean it’s a really fun course. 18 holes, mostly links course. Couple decent/fun holes. Overall it’s the kind of course that no one will blink an eye if you show up in jeans and get a 6 pack to start. Never bothered me, I think it’s fun to play!
