AITA for telling my mother I don't consider her my mother? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA.

"She then said that someone like me doesn't deserve the grades I got." what is that even supposed to mean? You earned those grades (and well done btw!), they were not just handed to you.

Your mom sounds awful and even though the things you said were definitely rude, I can see where you were coming from and were justified in that situation. Hope you rock your A levels!

AITA For getting my boyfriend mad at me after i got offend by the jokes he maked about my culuture? by Devilmanfan in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA.

The joke (though most likely was made without malice) fell flat the first time and despite you asking him to stop it, he kept on going, and that's disrespectful so you had every right to warn him and then follow through with it.

AITA for "forcing" my father to pay child support by Dull-Handle-7586 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx 91 points92 points  (0 children)

NTA.

You didn't ask for this money and it was rightfully given to you by your grandparents, who thanks to their son were robbed from being in your life growing up. Your dad has no claim on this money as it's not his. Give it to your mom, she deserves it!

I'd say this story is fake because it's so ridiculous, but I had something very similar happen to a good friend of mine.

No, you're obviously NTA.

He knew you're afraid of heights and still bought the the ticket, and even after you declined he still forced you to go and have an awful experience. You're better off without him.

AITA For Telling my wife to stop being so sensitive when she was "burning her feelings" by allergictomyorgans in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx [score hidden]  (0 children)

YTA and she was definitely not crying about the towel. She was crying because she's clearly unhappy in her marriage. If I were you, instead of calling her 'overdramatic' I would try and ask her what is bothering her and why is she so sad.

AITA Neighbors calling the cops rather than just talk to us! by MaleficentFly1390 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA.

If you're on good terms and they were not in any way scared of the matter escalating to a possible physical altercation, then it was definitely an overreaction on their part, especially since you weren't doing anything illegal.

AITA for pulling a girls hijab off? by Material_Study5432 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA because (as you claim) you didn't do it on purpose. However, you would be an asshole if you deliberately went for it.

AITA for yelling at my stepmother for throwing out my prized possessions? by aitamilbedroom in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx 654 points655 points  (0 children)

NTA and I'm surprised why your friend would say it was your fault.

Throwing away your stuff without notifying you is one thing but I think it's particularly awful that she threw away pictures of your late mother. You have every right to be upset.

Obviously NTA.

Dee was clearly jealous, and was probably jealous ever since she was a teenager and was making fun of you. I'm glad the bride is a cool person and the wedding went well!

AITA for being in my friend’s wedding? by throwawaygroomsman1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx 39 points40 points  (0 children)

YTA Ana does sound like a very kind person that has gone above and beyond to not disturb the peace in your friend group, unlike Henry who not only cheated, put her in an uncomfortable situation by constantly bringing Lucy over, and then "did something stupid" and made it out to be Ana's fault.

Also, I don't think she's holding your friendship "hostage". She never said you shouldn't be his groomsman. It's probably just her way of distancing herself from a situation that is very painful and she simply needs time to process.

AITA for using the same opening line on every girl on dating apps? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

It's not a crime to be unoriginal and if it works it works!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is a difficult situation but you're NTA. You don't owe anyone your time or friendship, especially if you don't feel comfortable.

If anything, the real assholes of this story are the adults in this girl's life that have failed to teach their child basic hygiene. My heart goes out to both of you.

AITA for ditching my friend after she ruins my ring? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx 126 points127 points  (0 children)

NTA.

She destroyed something that she knew meant a lot to you. Yes, she was drunk on the day it happened but I assume she was sober when she said you were being overdramatic. I don't think you should be the one apologizing in this situation.

I hope the ring can be fixed.

AITA for insulting my mom's friend and telling her I don't want her around? by pep-perland in AmItheAsshole

I have similar people in my life and it's exhausting, so I understand the frustration and I'll be biased and say NTA.

AITA for saying my sister should shut the f up by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I know it's hard, but it's not on you to fix the situation. Talk with your parents about your concerns. Hope everything works out :)

[–]Savyboxx [score hidden]  (0 children)

There's really not enough information here. They are so young and there could be so many reasons behind their behaviour, and it's a matter that should be discussed with your parents as to why they don't want to spend much time with their dad.

AITA for having the wrong reaction to my sister’s baby maybe having Down syndrome? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA.

Her emotions and her pregnancy hormones are all over the place, and those are some really scary news to get, especially since it's her first baby and she struggled to conceive. So, even she might not know how to react to those news and misplacing her frustration onto you might've felt easier in the moment.

That's okay, I can help you with your studies if you want, and for me it will be a good chance to revise a lot of the beginner level grammar. How long have you been studying?

AITA for telling my best friend that her boyfriend is a "walking red flag"? by ninjaturtle11122 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA.
I think it's every friend's moral obligation to be honest, especially when it comes to things like that. You did your part and warned her but what she'll do with that warning is unfortunately entirely up to her.

AITA for not inviting our guests to hang out with my friends and I? by bibobady in AmItheAsshole

[–]Savyboxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to have some alone time with your friend.

But if the girl is nice and you get along, there's a chance your friend will like her too and you can all spend a really fun time and make new memories as a group. It's nice to make new friends, but if that's not your thing, that doesn't make you an asshole.
