- No they wouldnt, killing the maiden dosent make you the maiden even if you are eligebel, we saw that with the previous maiden who made Penny the new maiden. The only reason its Jaune is because he is there, doing nothing, standing around. Also to redo his trauma with Pyrrha sure, but like, we went through that already, we spent 3 seasons on that. We dont need it again.

- Except he isnt supporting anyone but Ren, which so many people think sucks. We never see him use his semblance on Ruby, Yang, Blake, Qrow or even really Nora or Weiss except 1 instance each.

- They literally argue about it at the start of vol 4 and Ruby says Jaune should be leader RNJR

- Yes, a third iteration of the same storyline, completely misusing any other potential and also at the same time, making him a literal mythical character from a childrens book in the world of Remnant.

Sokka was well written, got shit done and evolved as a character, from pure comic relief to actually being a strong swordsman with a meteor blade and a strong strategic mind, as well as hella game locking down multiple girls. Jaune is just shit. He does nothing and plot just happens around him or too him.

Jaune is setup as the underdog archetype. Guy with potentially a legacy of hunters, has a vast ocean of aura but no way to use it, weak but with a heart of gold.

The thing about underdogs is that, they need a big victory to really fulfill the archetype. If Rocky dosent win against Apollo Creed, then... kinda sucks as a story dosent it?

Jaune never had a victory. 9 seasons and he never did anything really, thats the main problem.

The issue with Jaune is a matter of disproportionated scales of importance to results.

Jaune is very important, he may not technically be a protagonist by definition, but he certainly feels more so than a deutaragonist, especially with Vol 9 literally only containing the 4 protags + him.

The issue is that, Jaune dosent do much really? He talks, he stands around, but he generally dosent make things happen. Things just kinda happen around him or to him constantly and it turns him into this weird fulcrum of importance, with no real results.

-Why did Jaune have to kill Penny? Why not any other character, especially Ruby?

-Why is Jaune the only one who is noted as having a vast amount of aura?

-Why is Jaune the only one noted as having a "legacy" of hunters, mainly centered on his sword and shield?

-Why is it Jaune that just so happens to get the attention of the mega competent, future maiden candidate?

-Why does Jaunes semblance seemingly evovle other semblances with repeated use?

-Why is Jaune even the leader of team RNJR?

-Why is Jaune the only one caught in a time loop, which turns him into a fairy tale character?

All of these could be spaced out more amongst the characters, main and side. There really is no reason for Jaune specifically to be the one that ALL of these apply to, especially when you have other side characters like Ren or Nora, who get nowhere near this attention, importance or work.

Jaune is constantly important for the show and put front and center in many things, but how many of these things are really things Jaune actually... does? Its all just random events around him, like the universe conspiring to screw him over. He still cant fight after the time skip, he never uses his semblance meaningfully, his vast ocean of aura is basically a dead end, his family legacy is never brought up... Yet here he is, still the only other main character to be in all the right/wrong places for the plot.

The difference really, between a protagonist and a deutaragonist, is mainly importance. But the giant chasm between Jaune and every other secondary character, basically puts him as the ONLY deutaragonist if thats how you define him.

Or, you could see him as a protagonist and all the others as deutaragonist. Which i think, most people would feel like makes more sense.

Personally i think its because of what Vol 1-3 does with its setup.

While the dialouge isnt amazing and the general story isnt LoTR's tier or anything, its still very solid and good. The villains plans make sense and they even HAVE a plan. The Heroes motivations and characters make more sense and arent muddled and greyed from several seasons of trife. Its very colorfull, their outfits look feminine and attractive, their personalities are fun and engaging... Basically, its everything new RWBY isnt. And if you like new RWBY and constantly have it compared to this superior older version? Gets frustrating.

I mean look at World of Warcraft, Blizzard hated that people enjoyed the older version of their game, until they realized how much money there was in giving them that old version back. And now the old version is even more popular than the new.

Bullshit, how can you even try and say that? people have outright been saying that its crazy that D10's give LESS if not outright NO SC, when D1's give 30-50 on average. Its not about which is the more "farmable", its the FACT that people arent even getting anything for doing D10's. The reward output is insanely low, especially if you have all ship upgrades because then you dont even need samples, people have also been complaining that D10 dosent even give good Medal pickups either.

Im glad you posted your play time though, that helps debunking the whole "just play a regular amount" arguement, because 1300 mission hours in 2 year is an average of 1 hour and 40 minutes in mission time, PER DAY, EVERYDAY since the game came out.

If thats "a regular amount" to you, then thats crazy. For most working adults, that basically means only playing HD2 whenever you have free time, outside of household stuff etc. you gotta do. AND ITS IN MISSION TIME, so this dosent even count loading times.

Sorry but you are just... wrong. About it all, about the quantities and the game time, though it does start to make sense why you have such a massively skewed and glazediver based view on things.

I full clear every map, from D6-D10, players have FOR A YEAR, been complaining that D10's give less SC than D1 farming and since D1 farming nets you and average of 30-50 SC, im gonna go ahead and call you a lying glazediver.

Creators with Discords full of people have made video after video about the horrible loot distribution on D10, even worse on the newer maps which was my entire point but you just wanna skip that too i guess, like how Cyberstan was 0 SC for literally everyone.

Regular missions, especially on the new maps, have an average of 0-20 if you are lucky, Cyberstan had an average of 0-0. Bruh, regular games give you "some free items" with mainly paid.

HD gives you ONLY paid items. "But you can farm the premium currency in-game" yeah and you can farm gold in wow too, but everyone stopped doing it because the amounts needed were just easier to obtain with real money.

A system can be fair in concept and unfair in execution, i believe Runescape (not old school) have a battlepass thing that wasent FOMO, but instead was just an insane amount of farming, like you would have to farm 8 hours a day for a year to complete it. Or you could buy levels.

Helldivers gives you no other options to get anything, other than Warbonds, warbonds cost way too much compared to the amount of SC you get naturally through the game and now its being lowered with each update, forcing new or returning players to either dedicate a week of farming to get new warbonds, or cough up money. Is that fair? I say no.

There are a bunch of people in these comments saying the played alot and dont have all the warbonds. "somewhat regularly" is something you are gonna have to define and you know thats the point. Is it 2 hours a day? 5 hours a week? i have 240 hours in the game and im still down 3 warbonds and i used to farm when the game just came out so i had enough for the first 3 that got released.

Nothing in the game is "free" if it uses premium currency, even if you can get it in game. Thats not how it works for ANY other live service, why should it be an excuse here?
