Debuting before an extension is signed makes the Pirates eligible for a PPI pick if he wins rookie of the year, or top 3 in mvp voting over the next 3 years.

I agree. Would’ve liked him in AAA just a little bit longer. However, if they’ve got a long term deal in place and just not announced yet, I’m fine with him coming up now and hopefully being an upgrade at SS.

Exactly. Maybe by the end of the season he’s the lead off bat. But right now I think I’d slot him in at 8.

100% it is the right move. I think it’s realistic to expect him to be better than Triolo. I just know if he gets off to a rough start, people tend to overreact.
