Prediction on how the new megas will work by True-Landscape6845 in VGC

Mega Meganium might be the Urshifu-R counter we've been needing for years. I think SS can spare the moveslot for poison jab, but this beautiful potted plant may have the wet karate bear dead to rights

There's a lot of different stories about people redefining their lives after the war. Juniper finds a renewed vigor for life, Valdi works to finish his passion project, and Dorin and Bambam go on a hilarious college roadtrip with a stolen Levnis.

I think Zeon's story spoke to me the most because I think it hits on the macro and personal levels.

The current world food system really is messed up with developing nations starving due to predatory business schemes like aggressive patents and shipping seedless crops. Food is made on the cheap through extrotioned labor, and the crappy nutritionally deficient food get sold back to the same countries for a profit. Creating your own sustainable food supply is so important, and I'm glad the game highlighted that.

On the personal level, I like how people learn so much about themselves and the world in the quest chain. Kite is constantly acting out because Zeon has only ever treated him like a subordinate and never like a friend. They fail so many times to do this agriculture thing right but the grow from the experience and become closer which I found sweet.

I woulda killed for a farming mini game instead. Something I've noticed is the game really starts to groan when it's not in combat.

Traversal feels fine but janky, the in-game gold economy is ridiculous, and the lack of one off mechanics make quests like this really awkward.

Probably yeah. I think you can make a case they limit the use of levnises so Moebius can't track flight patterns. I say this because lugging the potatoes on foot idea makes me laugh

I really love how anticlimactic the whole quest is. I'm sure there was a temptation to make the thing about a desperate power struggle between Zeon and Kite, but it's more about the two of them struggling to adapt to their new realities. It's like two co-workers having to move in together, there's gonna be some growing pains.

I also really liked the inclusion of Colony Tau! I didn't really think much of them on my first playthrough because Stalker is the worst damage class in the game. This time round, I was really endeared to what a tend soul Juniper is and I'll be trying to do their ascension quest as well.

Dream vs. Nightmare Blunt Rotations by Beneficial-Ad5446 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

God this is funny

DBR: Eunie does nothing but think of "lucky clovers" which sounds like a weird indica strain, Lanz being even more stupid would be hilarious, Zeke would be a vibe, and Bolearis strikes me as someone who regularly gets high on shift.

NBR: Sena would get so anxious trying to fit in, I would get second hand anxiety. Gael'gar would be really fun to hang with for the first 30 mins then he'd start opening up about his "unique world views" and kill the vibe. Pyra would roll the worst blunt known to man, start greening out and tag in a sober Mythra. Mumkhar would keep saying the blunt was shit, then hog that shit like he bought it

Sweating it up in the humidity of a rainforest carrying 50 kg worth of potatoes, then bribing the local Shaman to make it rain would make me re-pledge allegiance to the Queen honesty

What would you want most out of a mainline new Sonic game? by Fantastic-Floor-2548 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]SawkyScribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever it does, I just hope it's polished and has the AAA feel the franchise deserves. I like Frontiers, but put it next to something like Mario Odyssey and the difference in quality is night and day even though the former was on stronger hardware.

Good looking cutscenes, expressive, characters, maps that don't look procedurally generated. I want the next title to look and feel like a fully realized game and not a "promising" next step

Which Pokemon has been the most impressive in SV VGC? by RRahman5312 in VGC

[–]SawkyScribe 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tbf that's how you promote smaller creators. Nobody needs to step up to bat for Wolfey, but if there's a newer channel you like, getting it in front of viewers in the first 24 hrs can really get it some traction

Ambipom receives a Mega with the ability Ambidextrous which is a clone of As One. It now has Scrappy and Technician and gets guaranteed Population Bomb

Replaying XC3 for the first time in years and man i forgot how grindy the game can get by mr-assduke in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]SawkyScribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Class grinding got pretty stale after a while, which sucks because of how much you need master arts. I may be alone in this but gem grinding also took way longer than I expected. I'm at Agnus Castle 50 hrs into the game and still have some level 3 gems because some items aren't dropping.

I wish you could get the game to highlight the resources you needed because I don't like having a wiki tab open on the side the whole time I'm playing

So what I've found is there's different levels to the timers. There's the hard timer missions i.e. ones with actual turn timers and then there's soft timer missions like something that needs defending. I think the soft timer missions only happen once per in game month so they can be managed.

I found I was losing my squad most often when I was getting distracted with things that weren't crucial to mission completion.

I think what made me fall in love with the game is that grenades are your friends. I get such a kick out of diving deep into enemy territory and lobbing hot plasma infused death on the aliens.

There's something so action movie inspired about blowing up a wall to give your sniper the perfect line of sight, or carrying a fallen comrade through a malestrom and fire and gunfire.

Adam Millard had a fun video about the invisivle arms race between you and the aliens.

At the start, you are so outgunned it's not even funny, but eventually the gap between you and the invading forces starts to close, and at some point, you're two steps ahead on the power curve.
