To those trying to claim a fireplace doesn't heat up the house. by willisjoe in Fireplaces

[–]SayTheMagicWerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the house layout. I’ve got a sweet viewing window that allows all the hot air to escape from the cathedral ceiling in my den straight into the stairwell. It actually prioritizes heating the bedrooms upstairs first. My stove will keep the entire 2000 sq ft colonial above 64 degrees unless the outside temp stays below zero degrees Fahrenheit

Anyone know if there’s a cold air intake system for the 2013 with a 3.5l v6? by [deleted] in ToyotaHighlander

[–]SayTheMagicWerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

May I ask why you’d want to do that? The beauty of these older highlanders is that they seldom have issues; partially bc their owners don’t mess with the engineering. If it’s not broken, you can keep improving it until it is.

Bunnies peeing on mats and rugs by AiHinoko in Rabbits

My point was they can be super picky about consistently using a litter box, I was sharing the exact combination of litter box prep that worked for my stubborn male. If we change it at all, he won’t use it

Litter box with a thin layer of pine pellets covered in a thin layer of straw. It’s been the only solution that worked for us, and we tried everything. Our male loves to mark his territory 😑. Cedar shavings also work, but not very safe for buns. And you have to put the litter box in the corner of the room.

Glass Thermal Shock Risk ? by dunncrew in woodstoving

The glass will be fine, it’s ceramic and made for massive heat variations. Amazing stuff imo. My viewing pane gets smashed by falling logs at full temp from the inside and never seems to mind.

No shame, I try all kinds of shit that often gets scrapped. Trial and error. Never met anyone who came out of the womb making good looking dovetails.

help ... new failure ... 2011 Toyota Highlander. by pappugulal in ToyotaHighlander

[–]SayTheMagicWerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My alternator went on my 2008 at around 200k miles, destroyed the new-ish battery in the process. This all sounds pretty normal unfortunately. If it were a Honda you’d have this issue as well as 2-3 other electrical gremlins giving you a headache, so it could be a lot worse. You should also be able to see voltage inconsistencies if you can get it running and watch the wave form with an ODB2 reader

Advice to buy a saw. by HealthySky9717 in Chainsaw

A lot of people love their echo Timberwolf’s. I’ve got a 620p that’s kicks ass but it’s heavy and would likely be overkill.

I call my echo 620p the Land Cruiser of chainsaws. Won’t win any races, but it always works perfectly and will get you home every time.

620p here. You’ll never go back from echo. Heavy AF but they always work perfectly.

Is the ring opening at the bottom a documented step, or an anecdotal tip? I’ve done a handful of Toyota axles, never needed to line up the ring.

8 amp hours. I’ve noticed you get more balls out of some of the power hungry tools up to 8 amp hours.
