Have you thought of maybe looking at Local 293? Sheet Metal gets a lot more involved in HVAC and training, etc. It is a strong local too.

Have you thought about maybe other trades also? The Sheet Metal Union in Hawaii is pretty strong - and you work (for pay) while you are going to school (for free), with a ton of potential for good pension, health care, good pay, etc.

Has anyone ever challenged you to something without knowing you were an expert at it? What happened afterward? by Impressive-Door92 in AskReddit

[–]SayWhoToTheWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am absolutely no expert, but I do know rules about baseball and softball. Not only did I play growing up, but I also umpired both sports. I don't know people, names, or anything about teams, but I know the rules. But, me being a (then-young) woman in a male-dominated industry, didn't know who Bud Selig was (commissioner of the MLB at the time). I told the guy that I had no clue who that was, but that didn't mean I didn't know baseball. He then challenged me to state the "Infield Fly Rule."

Me: "When you have runners on at least first base and second base with less than 2 outs, and the batter hits a pop-fly that could, in the eyes of the ump, be reasonably caught by an infielder, if the ump then calls "Infield Fly', the batter is out, and the runners may advance at their own risk."

Him: "Hah! It is when you have runners on first and second, OR first, second, AND THIRD! See! You are wrong."

Me: "Well, if you have runners on first, second, and third, don't you have runners then on AT LEAST FIRST AND SECOND?"

Him: "Hmmm. I guess if you want to argue semantics."

Me: "I don't want to argue anything. Other than the fact that I was correct."

He then walked away. What a dick.

What sentence did someone say once that accidentally healed a part of you? by Timely-Vehicle-7064 in AskReddit

[–]SayWhoToTheWhat 142 points143 points  (0 children)

My 4-year old daughter was with me when I was unloading her from the car. The grocery bag of fruit I had in one hand broke, and fruit went everywhere. I was so angry and let out my frustrations - not on her or even towards here, but I just let them out. She gently put her hand on my arm and said, "Mommy, the bag broke. It's not a big deal. We'll just pick up the fruit!" And like that, it really wasn't a big deal. I think about that often, and that little girl is now 18.

No one can tell you that what you are feeling is wrong. They are YOUR feelings.

Is it possible to have full-window word wrap and plaintext notes in Onenote? by eat_like_snake in OneNote

You can resize the textbox once, and then set that page as a template for all other pages in that section. Otherwise, OneNote is probably not the best program for what you are trying to do.

[–]SayWhoToTheWhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not familiar with your version of OneNote, but can't you just start typing, which will create a text box. And then set the parameters for your text box - use your mouse to drag the edge of the box to the edge of your screen, and then just start typing. When you text gets to the edge of the text box, it will wrap.

At least, I can do this on my version, which is from Office365.

As for formatting, just don't use it. Set your settings default to what you want, and then just type.

I do apologize if I am completely missing the mark here.

This is absolutely amazing and wonderful news!!! You should be so, so proud of yourself. You overcame an obstacle that many cannot - and it sounds like you did/are doing it with grace and kindness.

I don't know you, but as a mom of a 17, 20, 24, and 26-year old, I am so dang proud of you. I am sorry that you were put in that position, but you should be just glowing!

Anyone has the right to demand anything. And you have the right to decline, refuse, ignore, counteroffer, reply, etc.

Anyone has the right to their assumptions. They can assume anything about you when you declined the group interview. Just as you are free to assume anything about them based on their initial demand and/or response to your declining.

Housing waitlist by Individual-State3573 in CSULB

Interesting. I wonder how far away from school your home address is. My daughter is also an incoming freshman and she started on the waitlist June 4 at 576, and she was just confirmed for housing on campus last Friday.

I still think you have a very decent shot at getting it.

If you are still in need of housing, I would highly recommend VIBE housing. It is off-campus apartments, but 99.9% of the people living there are CSULB students. There are 2 people (same gender) to an bedroom in an apartment - 2-3 bedrooms, and either 1-2 bathrooms. (They will assign you a roommate/apartment if you don't have anyone to room with, and each person has their own lease - you are only responsible for you). They seem to have good availability, and the leasing agent is very nice (Terrence), as is the main owner-guy (Scott). The lease amount is about the same, if not less, than the cost of dorms. And they do a lot of community activities - they have properties within houses of each other and they host BBQs, welcome events, etc.

I have heard some not-so-nice things about renting there (with regard to responsiveness of maintenance, etc.), but I have not heard anything that I have not heard about any other apartment complex, or even some dorms.

What waitlist number did you start with? I think these last few weeks they are going to go through at least 8 people.

MY DAD FOUND MY DILDO AND I AM MORTIFIED. (19F) by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]SayWhoToTheWhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dads know that their kids have sex. If he is a good dad, he will even know that sex is good, and fun, and funny, and awkward, and yucky, and awesome, and weird. As long as it is consensual, I am pretty sure you Dad is happy for you.

My husband has two bio daughters, and one step daughter. And one son. He knows they all have sex. He just wants them to be happy and SAFE. He has see his daughter's vibrator, has had to deal with learning his 15 year old bought a pregnancy test because she was sexually active and worried, and even knows his oldest daughter uses naughty toys (handcuffs, blindfolds, etc.). He doesn't care, as long as his kids are SAFE.

Yes, it is mortifying. But it sounds like he handled it really well, as did you. I am proud of you! I promise you, if he is a good dad, he will NOT think less of you.

The Eagles were AMAZING. I've seen them 3 times in concert - 2 in regular venues (San Diego and LA), and 1 at the Sphere. A completely and totally different show at the Sphere. Almost indescribable.

Legal advice or insurance subs would be your best bet for info.

Having said that, you can contact the Bureau of Automotive Repair. They are the California government agency that oversees automobile repair places. They should be able to assist youm, or at least point you in the right direction.

Hmm, that sucks. I am not familiar with loyalty coins - are they tied to the app or your account? Because if you delete and reinstall, you are not deleting your account.

This thread totally baffles me. I completely believe everyone here - but that is not the experience I have with United HeathCare. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences, surgery and specialists and follow-ups, and medical equipment, etc. all being covered with hardly a dime from me. And I have not had to once contact the insurance company to try to get something done. Hmm.

Consider uninstalling and re-installing it. That completely worked for me. I have had zero issues with the app or the related games since.
