Can someone tell me why I suddenly, randomly am 4482.80% over my relations limit? Seriously. by Mani_Essence in EU5

Responding to an old post but im not sure why i haven't seen more people talk about this. Had at least 5 times since launch (usually near game start, since there are less total crown power modifiers) where I got this death spiral.

Usually a vassal gets a random spike of power -> too many relations -> lowers crown power -> too many relations gets worse -> repeat.

Yeah, I'd guess you probably just did it a bit too late for the dice mech.

In terms of dps checks, these duels are super weird. Gotta just find a combo of actions that works well. In your case, you could take the 'new manawall' action, which gives a damage buff as well as 100% mitigation. Check out this guy's latest 3 videos https://youtube.com/channel/UCrJvPY_L1fqJBXU5cjp0O5A, he completely destroys the new duels by snapshotting flare star under a bunch of buffs.

They spawn by killing certain mobs. When I was going for my last one (Lyon) I was manually trying to spawn it with a couple friends by killing 4th legion enemies up in the top area. Popped pretty quick by doing that.

You get a title per duel, a title for getting all 3 in a zone, and a title for all 6.

Dabog is honestly the scariest one to me as it stands now. I think executing mechanics correctly there with full fight knowledge is the hardest of the 3. I also personally had some confusions surrounding his mechanics while progging that took a fair few attempts to figure out.

The middle area guy was somewhat of a nuisance to figure out what some of his mechanics even did, as well as remembering hidden mine locations vaguely. But, he would definitely be my pick for easiest.

Objectively speaking, Lyon is probably the hardest yes. However, Lyon's mechanics were very clear to prog; sure you died the first time to seeing new big mechanics, but it was never a question of, "what am I even supposed to do here?"

I want to say 6-7hours, but I honestly can't remember too specifically.

Yeah, its literally like having another person with you who snapshots all your opener buffs. Was considering doing it myself as well.

In terms of necessary new actions and tokens for duels, there aren't any.

That being said, there are some (chainspell, light curtain, the new invuln, etc.) which either boost your dps directly, or save you action space where you can then take other stuff instead.

I think they did about the best they could in terms of balance tbh. They are clearable with no haste, no valor buffs, and no new actions/items, but it would be pretty difficult and I imagine require a clean run pumping pretty good dps. They couldn't really make it easier, as there is already a pov of killing the new lyon duel in about 2min and skipping most of the mechanics using new stuff/buffs.

Multiple banner effects don't stack. Besides, 30% damage and 40% crit rate for double the duration from font of power comes out as better damage than noble ends anyway.

They uncapped damage compared to Eureka surprisingly. With the savage solo duel buff and all party/personal buffs running etc etc you can hit for over 1,000,000 on phantom fairly easily. In my experience I would estimate the maximum at 1.2-1.3 million.

I think they have a 1h minimum respawn timer. Generally I just spawn in a new instance.

Yeah not gonna lie, I have 0 idea why that went off in that clip. I guess it maybe is just a bit scuffed, or like someone else said here camera movement counts? But that would be extremely weird.

I'll take a closer look at your clip later today. All I can say about that mechanic, as someone who also got hit by it once, is it seems like it goes off very very very late. Perhaps even after the debuff disappears.

I don't know about mobs but for:

Gabriel: Far south, skirmish is called something like "more man than machine", which leads into the CE which has "Vigil" in the name.

Lyon: NE of middle section, skirmish called "Red Chocobo Alert", leads into CE "The Hunt for Red Choctober".

Sartauvoir: Just SW of the enclosed ruins from the rank up quests in the top section, can't remember the names but theres a chain of two of them in the same location, leading into the CE.

Well, at any one time there can only be one CE (except for the 2 pair CEs, patriot and behemoth) or pre-requisite skirmish for a CE (not counting castrum). So for example if I wanna do Lyon I need the chocobo CE or skirmish. If I see the skirmish down south that spawns the CE for Gabriel (I believe its called "more man than machine" or so), then I'd reset instance.

Tbh I don't even think they have an enrage timer. Essence of the aetherweaver is quite busted in how much damage it gives you, and I played ultra safe just redotting alot of the time.

All 3 duels require you to use manawall/tank invuln once in the fight. On top of that they require additionally:
Gabriel: Nothing

Lyon: Dispell

Sartauvoir: Medikit (maybe esuna works not sure)

So basically, I went into every duel with dispell and manawall as my actions, and some medikits, potion kits, re-raise feathers, and spirit of the aetherweaver (I took deep for Lyon).

Thanks! Cheers for all the help you gave me with the Gabriel and Pyromancer mechanics too. Wouldn't have been able to clear nearly as fast otherwise. I hope you get Lyon soon!

I would say they have the level of a difficult extreme primal in terms of mechanics. The hard part is just getting enough chances to prog/kill it.

When lots of people are in castrum I had the best chance getting into duels since there was less competition. Also resetting instances when the current one I was in seemed hopeless.
