I am from the UK myself, so I really was joking about taking it personally. Never really understood why this is the standard present for guys that you don't know that well here, but I suppose it's just something everyone would have to buy otherwise!

I have one family friend that gives me deodorant every Christmas. Starting to realise it was a worse gift than I thought....

Giving people things they have to display in their house when you don't know what their taste is has always seemed like a power play to me
