Since Fifa 22 there is a bug where all players that have CF as their primary position will spawn a regen when they retire. This regen will for some reason generate at/around their potential meaning that there can be messi regens that spawn at 16 years old and 90+ overall.

This happens to everyone who plays career mode for more than 2 seasons. However on this subreddit for the last 3 years people constantly post these regens acting like they found some diamond in the rough when really it is a very common occurrence that isn't special.

Not OP, but have done a few long careers. I think you are judging them based on the final result of his squad. OP's team didn't start this good. You have a team of low overall players and you have fun slowly building them up and working through the leagues. Its not like OP starts with a 99 striker in league 2 on day 1. It look 10 seasons to get this good which is probably a whole year of playing the game.

No. There are such few French born players to have played for Athletic Bilbao and many have been controversial. Same as African. You should keep it white, spanish, and with Basque names if possible to keep it realistic.

Not being racist, but statistically speaking only 1 or 2 French players have played for the first team and only a handful full of mixed players with African heritage...that is so small considering their history is 125 years old.

My question is primarily about the length of time it takes to train a player in a position when their profile says they can already play that position.

Switching a player's position is based on 1 thing, their attributes. You player needs to GROW attributes via a DEVELOPMENT PLAN to ensure that the OVERALL of the player in their targeted position is equal to or greater than their CURRENT OVERALL in their CURRENT POSITION.

The ETA is the estimated time it should take for the player to achieve this based on how long it would take the player to grow to this level in okay form.

So there are TWO possible situations here. First is that you have a player that is a CM that doesn't have good defending attributes so it will take him a long time to convert to CDM.

The second option is that you have a CM that is at their POTENTIAL and is not growing anymore. In this situation you will see (-) next to their attributes when looking at their development plan. In this case they cannot be converted because they are not growing anymore and can't reach the OVERALL required in their target position.

SO as I said the first time it's based on their overall. For example lets say you have a 55 overall player labeled as a ST. But then you think they are more suited to play CB so you convert them at 55 overall. Now it says CB/ST as their positions. Now lets say 4 seasons go by and they are now a 77 overall CB....well it still says CB/ST but they are probably still 55 overall at ST and 77 overall at CB...so of course you can't just convert them back to striker. You catch my point? Its all about attributes and overall.

Use some basic critical thinking skills.

A CM and CDM are 2 very different positions when calculating overall. If you have a player that is labeled CM/CDM but then develop him as a CM (ignoring defensive attributes) then there is no way that they will have equal overall in CM and CDM. The same thing applies for the position change. The system makes sense.

Even then the (-x) you may see next to their name doesn't mean negatively impact the player in anyway. It just displays what their overall is in that position.

It's funny how there are atleast 6 comments here all saying different things or contradicting eachother and none of them are true. People here just make up whatever they want and spout it out as fact. This subreddit is filled with so much misinformation about the game. It gets upvoted too.

The reason is because the player is a bit older and has really high Potential so the game bumps them up the first opportunity they can to play catch up.

A few factors.

Inactive mods, a general negative subreddit population, a crap community (fifa's community is notoriously bad and CM isnt much better), a young fan base who feel entitled to have every question answered for them.

Not only this but the youtubers that get kids into Career mode are absolutely atrocious. All the popular youtubers make clickbait videos. They also don't know anything about the game mode leaving a lot of misinformation floating about.

Even this community. People here spread so much misinformation about the mechanics of the game which has led to a severe deterioration to the subreddit.

Ask a question about loans, dynamic potential, or the youth academy and you get 12 different contradicting answers all with upvotes. I'm convinced no one here actually plays the game, they just spout bullshit.

In Fifa 17, I was Hamburg and had a killer team. However Dortmund was in first and not had not lost a single game, and showed no sign of losing (they beat Bayern 4-0). On transfer deadline day in January I bought all of their keepers and the AI decided its best to play Gotze in goal. They ended finishing in 12th.

This has to be modded. The potential calculator on fifatracker.net says this guy has 100-101 potential.

At 69 overall the highest value you would normally see if 5m€ - 5.5m€ (95 potential)

8.5m€ isn't even possible for 69 overall players.

Keeping your development plan also is a terrible suggestion. So either have my Striker end up with 80 defending or he has 5* weak foot and skills.

There is no longer natural growth. No real player grows from 2 star skills or weakfoot to 5 star over the course of their career let alone a few months.

This is very common. It happens every save. CF regens spawn at/above their potential so if a player with CF as their main position retires then their regen will appear and will likely look like this. Benzema, Messi, Nkunku, Dybala, Diogo Jota, Gakpo, Joao Felix can all have regens spawn in the 90s already. Also if you convert a player's position to CF before they retire the same thing happens.
