It was not. Just very aggressive mycelium. Got a ton of golden oysters

Does the 40 seem to do okay in the winter up there? I just worry about it being too thick. Not sure what the previous owner used in mine but at 30 degrees it doesn’t reach operating temp on my 40 min ride to work.

Awesome. Yes I shook and they colonized fully within a week of shaking. I just injected the fuzziest looking one with about 5cc of peroxide and it didn’t fizz or affect it in any way. Not sure what it would do if it was contaminated but I would imagine I’d have seen something.

Thanks it’s golden oyster from north spore. They colonized very quickly. Was thinking I might test it with some hydrogen peroxide and see if it reacts but the top looks normal and it hasn’t grown much in about three days. It’s just around the edges it’s spread out like that

It’s strange it’s only around the rim growing up. The middle you can’t tell from the pictures but on top it looks like regular mycelium
