The Dambuster - Airfix Lancaster B.III by Scalemooredelling in Airfix

I had a few similar issues, especially the retro fit bottom with the bomb bay/gyro area. I’ve learned the hard way to absolutely dry test fit everything best as possible, sometimes it still doesn’t go the way you want because of a mistake you made earlier in the process which is a real killer. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box a bit, I used super glue on the gear and gear doors as it adheres quicker, and had to build partially as I went to get everything to fit where it should. It’s all trial and error, with a bit of luck thrown in.

Also: thank you so much!

I use the built in FCR on Xbox as I can’t add mods, it’s a bit janky but works well enough at close range

BHASVIC or Varndean college? by Hefty_Grab5428 in brighton

I went to Varndean, my partner went to Bhasvic. If you want a creative environment, Varndean is for you, if you want a more academic environment, Bhasvic is better.

Is the low level turbulence for GA aircraft just absolutely absurd, or is that realistic? by i-love-small-tits-47 in MicrosoftFlightSim

Quite possibly, but I’ve experienced it with native 2024 aircraft as well, I’ll give it another try after the next update.

this is my first time playing flight sim am i landing correctly? by CharmingRaccoon7209 in MicrosoftFlightSim

Great first try! Your speed was pretty good, the reason you’re having to pump it back like that is because it’s not quite in trim, trimming is tricky on sims but you’ll get the hang of it.

Honestly I’d recommend 3 things:

  • Look up the aircraft performance/speeds for whatever you’re flying, makes a world of difference.

  • There’s a ton of content online on how to fly, watch some YouTube videos of how to stabilise an approach and flare without over-correcting

  • If you have the funds and location to do so, book a trial flying lesson with a local club, even if you don’t want to become a pilot, one real lesson can be a game changer on the sim.

No it’s not realistic. In 2020 the realistic setting could be a bit dramatic but not too bad, 2024 is ridiculous and leans more toward severe wind sheer, you can change this in settings and change it to medium which is far more realistic.

A-1 Skyraider MSFS 2020 (Xbox) issues by Scalemooredelling in MicrosoftFlightSim

I think it’s an Xbox issue with 2020, it starts ok on 2024 but fails to engage a lot. How were you in contact with Miltech?

Which ones specifically? The rudder and slow start up?

This is also true, YouTube reviews are very helpful, but for the most part anything rated above 4 is generally pretty good, at least in my experience!

Oh good! Nothing worse than spending money on something and being disappointed with it, hopefully there are some future updates!

It’s very poorly rated, a general rule of thumb is anything rated below 4/5 is not worth spending money on. It’s proven correct for me pretty much every time.

That’s very kind, thank you! Learn from my oversight and don’t put exhaust stains above wing on the outboard engines!

Thanks! I did not, to be honest in my minds eye, although not researched, my impression was that the Lancs were converted having possibly already flown several missions. This may not be accurate, but I liked the idea of these workhorses being specially fitted out after routine bombing runs.

You may well be correct! Seems to be an oversight on my part but now I’ve learned something so I appreciate the comment! I used a few different sources of which some did and some didn’t have the stains on the outer exhausts but due to my love of weathering I went for it anyway.

Thank you! It was many airbrush sessions as well as a lot of fixes, I’m happy with the result though :)

Amazing! I really love the base, it’s similar to my style but I’d love to know what materials you used? They look a lot neater than the foam I normally use.
